• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    What Jacket are you wearing?

Never regretted it once. My first is only 4 years old, so barely broken in.

    What Jacket are you wearing?

Aerostich Darien Light. Custom fit, well vented, dry as can be in torrential rain. I like riding in the rain...

Bearings- What Am I Doing Wrong?

So are the bearings bad, or are you just pissed they came from China? Because, if it's the latter, I'm guessing there are a LOT of other parts you are going to need to replace. Most anything with copper wire windings, for instance....

    Front Sprocket Failure

I haven't had mine apart yet, but I'm guessing the front sprocket is aluminum. So red rust dust present on that part would indicate something made of steel is being abraded away (the splines on the drive shaft in this case). Reason I point this out (as a question) is, the inner shaft is wearing...

High Speed Crash on Hwy 87

To explain myself further.... The thin blue line, as I understand it, suggests support for law enforcement. Could it be construed as a political statement? For sure, yes. There's a bit of recent history about this, one side seems to dislike the killing of innoc... sorry, anyway, the other side...

Ride on, should I?... Which formula and dosage?

I use RideOn in all my PTW tires. Never had a flat. For those that say it's messy when you take the tire off, well, no one has ever said it to me because I do my own tires. But "Drama queen" comes to mind for any ""mechanic"" who says that. What, never got your hands dirty? Stuff washes off...

    SE6 paddle switch failing

Jealous? Just kidding, there are two stacks of two balls. If I recall correctly you only see the second set if you take off the three Torx screws holding the black plastic assembly on. So one ball pushes the second ball into the membrane switch (which is actually a little post)...

    SE6 paddle switch failing

Interesting. I just took mine apart last weekend. If you remove the bolt that holds that metal part with the "flags", do it slowly. In that part, on the other side, is a cylinder containing a spring, which pushes down a ball bearing into a detente which is what centers the switch. That...

    RT front tire balancing

I hope that "tech" is out of your life forever. I balance scooter tires down to 12" diameter, because they go up to 90 MPH. MV^2/R is the relevant equation; the small R is about proportional to the small M, it's the V-squared that gets you. Point: It's not the size of the rubber, it's the...

Question about difficulty shifting (and a lift)

Went for a ~20 minute test ride, and I'd say it's 80-90% of the way from where it was to where it should be. By that I mean, it shifts really smooth and easy now. Definitely better than before the oil change. Tiny niggle though; it missed shifting N to R twice, but giving it perhaps 100-200 RPM...
