• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    2014 RT

Lamont, please help me understand the new ECO mode. You said correct it does remap the engine but then you said there was no fuel economy difference in the two bikes in the side by test. Can you please clarify this for me? Exactly what is this ECO mode?

    Look Ma, no colors!

That's exactly what is making me so crazy Bob. That BRP is trying to squeeze everyone into buying the RT-S or the Limited by only offering black and white for the basic RTs. It's pretty hard to respect a business model that would do that.

    2014 RT

Not mine man. I love my 2011 RT and will ride it until it just won't go anymore. And then I'll bury in back of the house and build a shrine over it.

Stock back tire was so bad.

Yeah the OEM rear tire is only a 2 ply so at highway speeds it lacks the sidewall strength to keep it from ballooning out in the middle. And that's what causes the wear to be in the middle. A 4 ply tire will give you the durability you want.

Stock back tire was so bad.

I hear ya man. I also bought a Falkon after 3 OEM rear tires (yes, I'm a slow learner). Only got about 9,000 miles on each of the lame OEM rear tires. Have close to 10,000 miles on the Falkon and it looks like new!

    Look Ma, no colors!

Who cares? I do. A factory paint job is far superior to a body shop's and beyond that is the cost. I've also seen quotes upwards of $5000 to change color. Why would I want to pay that kind of money for an inferior product? When I buy something new I want it in the right color without...

    2014 RT

So are we saying the Eco mode is nothing more than an idiot light? That it does nothing to diminish performance? And by the way, for the record, I care nothing about fuel efficiency. For me this is fun and I'll buy the gas I need to have fun.

    2014 RT

Definitely take a bigger hammer. I've been offered a trade value of $16,000 for my 2011 RT with 32,000 miles and no mods. If Fun Machines doesn't sharpen their pencil go elsewhere. You have a lot of options.

    2014 RT

In a quick reading of the 2014 brochure http://spyder.brp.com/files/en-US/Images/Billboard/2014_Spyder.pdf it would appear that BRP engineers are listening to us. First of course is the new three cylinder engine. More low end torque will be really nice especially on the highway. Another big...

    Look Ma, no colors!

http://spyder.brp.com/files/en-US/Images/Billboard/2014_Spyder.pdf Ok I hate to sound like a complainer. I really do. But one of my big beefs with BRP has been the lack of colors. I've always thought they should offer more colors. Well I downloaded the sales brochure for the 2014 Spyders...

One of the main differences between 2013 and other models

At the expense of sounding disrespectful I need to say that I have a real problem with the comment about shorts and flip flops. Not supposed to? Really? You people can wear what you want and we'll wear what we want. I understand opinions are like you-know-whats but when something sounds as...

    Trailering with cover. Should I?

I use an open trailer and have never covered the Spyder. When you think about it it's really no different than riding it. Using a cover would just be asking for trouble.

    Nova Scotia Trip.

Hey Bangor, Maine, is my hometown! I agree with Mike. The Loop Road through Acadia National Park is a ride you'll never forget. And downtown Bar Harbor is another must see. Have fun!

ALWAYS USE HIGH BEAMS DURING THE DAY!

Had a friend on a Spyder behind me the other day and I could hardly see his headlights at all. I told him to turn on the high beams and it made a big, big difference. Make sure you always use high beams in the daytime.

    Automotive rear tire

Wow only 8,000 on the Falken? You really need to stop burning out at the red lights Bob. :roflblack::roflblack:

    Automotive rear tire

Good choice on going to the Falken. I only got about 9,000 miles on my first three Kendalls. :banghead: My Falken only has about 5.000 on it but there's no wear showing at all. I was told the Kendall is only a 2-ply tire which will balloon out in the center at high speeds creating the wear in...

    Not sure what caused this....

I think BRP owes every one of us an explanation.
