• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    NEW KEYLESS HELMET LOCK

Looks interesting. Hope you do well with them. Kind of hard to get the perspective of how these work looking at sideways pictures though. ;) ..... John, feel free to use these links in your OP, if you want. (Right click and choose "copy image address".) Then I'll delete this message.

Rear tire replacement - what is everyone liking now?

Wow, five recommendations for the Yokohama s-Drive so far in this thread. When I installed mine last year not many were installing that tire. So I'll be #6 to recommend that tire! Only 4000 miles on mine so far, but it still looks new. Like others, I've noticed a big improvement...

    Drive shaft

I would imagine that is correct. Still, if for no other reason than to satisfy curiosity, the question as to the choice of belt drive is an interesting one. My last three motorcycles were all shaft driven and seemed to work smoothly and flawlessly. I'm not having any problems with the belt...

What is the "resonator" for ?

i don't have a direct answer for you, but there was an awful lot of forum discussion on this very subject back in 2014-2015 before the major heat recall came out for the 2013 RT that Spring. The idea of adding the JT filter then was to allow more room under the cowling for air to flow around...

    What now??

The problem is that if you have long legs, your knees may not fit inside the cowling indent and may hit the widest part of the cowling instead. That, in turn, makes it hard to find the brake with your foot. The F3T I rode was slightly better than other F3's, but not by much. Other's with long...

    VSS Disconnect

Well then, I stand corrected on that point. :opps:

    VSS Disconnect

I was thinking the same thing. Remember, Mr. Ambassador, that you now represent the Dealer, and maybe also BRP by association - neither of which may appreciate your telling potential customers how to disable the VSS due to potential liability. You don't wanna feed those hungry lawyers out...

How often do you use your Battery Tender, if you ride a lot ?

Yeah, you're probably right. I just assumed otherwise, since that would be the case with me. Wife and I like to get away with the RV and unfortunately I cannot take the Spyder along. :sour:

Michigan's 'Tunnel of Trees' among most scenic fall routes for motorcyclists

I LOVE riding on roads like that. And no better time than the fall.

    That's a good point.

    Decisions, decisions, decisions

Man, you are in a RARE mood this morning. Don't want to get too personal, but I'm guessing you had a "good night" last night.

    Decisions, decisions, decisions

THAT is a wonderful analogy for Joe's "problem". :2thumbs: :roflblack:

How often do you use your Battery Tender, if you ride a lot ?

Well there are two opposing views. I do pretty much what SPIDERMAN does, but I'm wondering how many folks unplug their battery maintainer when away from home. I've never heard of potential fire problems on any of the better units that have a "float mode". :dontknow:

How often do you use your Battery Tender, if you ride a lot ?

You would, if you didn't trade them in so often. ;)

    What now??

That may capture some additional F3 fans, but the forward foot position is NOT the only problem with the F3. The dang thing is just too wide. They need to slim it down in order for some riders not to have to wrap their legs around that wide engine. Maybe they could simply do that by...

    What now??

My options are not quite so limited yet, as the RT has always been the Spyder for me. I'm glad I bought a 2013 though, because I've come to love that high revving 998 engine. My last two motorcycles (before the RT) were both big-bore V-Twin touring cruisers. (Well the Yamaha RS Venture was...

    SMH10 Issue

Willie, I think you are talking about the Sena 10S headset, not the SM10 Bluetooth dongle. To avoid confusion, you may want to edit your message above. It's hard to keep them all straight with the nomenclature that Sena uses. Also, the information you are referring to is in sections 7.1 & 7.3...

    What now??

Those early Suzuki Intruders really did look like the Harley's of the day. I wonder if that's where the term "poser" originated. ;) I owned a Vulcan 750 - which "tried" to look like a Harley, but it never quide made it. Still not a bad looking bike, though. Unfortunately, I don't think the...

    F3S and the Wind

So what does a Spyder Ambassador do? Joe, Please tell us more about this new position you have as a "Spyder Ambassador". What are your official duties? Is it kind of like being a missionary in medieval times, where you you have to mount your new blue shieldless steed, and travel to foreign...
