• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Tim - Have you installed the light yet and have you tried it out? Curious as to how it performs and whether you're satisfied with it.

Anyone seen or tried a "BrakeFree" Helmet Light?

Has anyone either seen or tried the BrakeFree Helmet Light? https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/brakefree-the-smart-brake-light-for-motorcyclists It seems that this has been in development for at least 2 years now, but AFAIK it's still not available. Is there any tangible news about it yet?

    What Size Tool is Needed....

    So Tempted to Ryde Today.....

Clear blue skies and temps in the mid-60's. First truly spring-like day here since last year. So tempted to go for the first ryde of the year....but the roads are so wet from the melting snow. :gaah: Maybe soon.....

    Renting a Motorcycle Trailer?

My brother wants to trailer his Suzuki Boulevard Motorcycle to Texas later this winter, in order to visit and ride with his son. Since he has nowhere to store a trailer, he's looking to rent one. He says that he checked online and made calls to U-Haul and was told that they don't rent...

    Single pay for all tolls

Yes, I did. Then I learned that, in NY State, when you give up plates they are never re-issued and the "old" plate number stays on your registration record (along with the current "new" plate number)! Even though I notified EZ Pass of this numerous times, the morons there still charged the...

Does Anyone "Snowbird" with their Spyder?

Yeah, I've got time but driving to the Southwest is a L-O-N-G trip!

Does Anyone "Snowbird" with their Spyder?

I love the Southwest. But it's quite a bit too long of a trip from here, unfortunately.

Does Anyone "Snowbird" with their Spyder?

As I get older, I find that I can tolerate the cold winters in upstate NY less and less. For many years, I kept busy in winter by skiing, which I've genuinely enjoyed - but I think I may be at the point where I'm losing my motivation for even that due to the cold weather and my aging joints...

    Single pay for all tolls

After having EZ-Pass repeatedly (over the course of YEARS) mistake my license plate for one owned by an apparent chronic toll-runner's, I don't trust ANY automated toll system anymore. My plate and the toll runner's differed by only one digit ("Y" vs "V") and that was enough for me to receive...

Question about short reach bars for F3 Limited

I have BRP's short reach bars on my F3-T. I don't believe that they are any narrower than the standard bars.

    Helmet-mounted 3rd brake light

Being a firm believer in making yourself as visible as possible (unlike some of the non-believers in this thread), I've had my eye on this product as well. However, I didn't invest because I also believe in having a final product to evaluate. I was particularly concerned about dialing in the...

    My new Ski adventure, cont'd.- days 8,9,10 & 11

I disagree that timing of your runs is any indication of "progress". Faster is not always better (unless you're trying out for the Olympic team). My main criteria is "Am I having fun?". Skiing under control is a big part of that question, but skiing fast isn't (at least for me). If I'm...

Another thread about money......for those receiving S.S.

Part A (Hospitalization) Medicare requires no monthly payment. Everything else does. For example, Part B (Doctor visits, etc.) requires a monthly payment (which comes out of SS). I think mine's been $135 this year and it's going up $1.50/month next year. Those are just the highlights...

My new life adventure - sking ..cont'd

Well done, Mike! Is that 3 days IN A ROW ? I NEVER do that - My legs can't take it. Like you said, skiing seems to use muscles only used for ... well, skiing. Yes, the new (for you) parabolic skis certainly are a BIG improvement over the old stuff. Stay out of those bumps and look...

    New life adventure ?

I used to ski at Hunter Mountain for many years, but no more. Too crowded and too far away from me. That private mountain you refer to is no longer private - Windham Mountain. I usually ski at Gore Mountain, and sometimes at West Mountain. I wasn't aware that Alpina (and perhaps Head) make...

Would anyone here know whether a hot-water baseboard (gas-fired in this case) home heating system be able to continue operating if the water supply to the home gets shut off? Thanks!
