• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

1375 miles in 19 hours on a RT.

Yes I kept every receipt and had almost all of them witnessed, the best gas stop was in WV on route 19, midnite, at a Sheetz station, 4 pickup trucks were parked at the gas pumps having a big party complete with 12 packs, cooking hot dogs in the back of one truck, some pretty good country music...

1375 miles in 19 hours on a RT.

I haven't been on the forums in about a year very much because work has kept me from the fun sport that we all enjoy. Well this weekend I had an opportunity too quickly fly down to venice florida and pick up my spyder and ride it back upstate New York. The problem is I only had 24 hours to do...

    Major Exhaust Leak

That is the exact place my wifes pipe broke and then mine broke 2 months later (both our Rt's were 2010's) . I know my dealer did 7 of them and they aren't a huge dealer , so there were more than a few me thinks.... I also , like Scotty , have not heard of any 11's or 12's doing that.

    Saw a new ST!

For those of us with RT's , it really makes us think also. I spent $$$$ and time trying to get my GS comfortable and now am on my 2nd RT. I chose the RT for the wind protection and comfort. In my opinion , the ST is far more striking , and suits my tastes better. I may move from the RT to the...

Oil leak, a.k.a. "That's just grrrreat."

Install new clamp , spray some brake clean on the area to clean it up , top off oil and go ride the skyway. The belt moving away from the lip of the rear sprocket is of no concern unless its now protruding over the outer lip , I've never seen a belt come off for the reason your stating. Go enjoy...

    Feel Like complaining? READ THIS!

Many times , we find it easy to b*tch about our Spyders, crab about other drivers , complain about the weather, you name , it most of us (me included) can take a cynical look at situations sometimes. A friend of mine doesn't know the word pessimism, has never heard of the word can't and...

A quick little ride to the store...(Or my answer to the how do you break in a Spyder)

1431 miles , if you were asking mpg , I only checked twice , second fill up 28mpg then later on towards the end 33 mpg, which considering the last few hundred miles I rarely went under 75 mph , I am satisfied. Just needs a bigger tank. At around 1000 miles the motor really woke up and started...

Correct way to break-in new Spyder

Here is my method. As you can see from my gps log, I probably would not be rated as one of those who believes taking it easy on a motor is the right way... These are actual mileage logs from my new Spyder taken this week. First 5 miles was a tad slow as I had to figure out how NOT to use a...

A quick little ride to the store...(Or my answer to the how do you break in a Spyder)

lol When I ride long distances like that I throw in bottled water and clif bars. At every gas stop i drink a small bottle of water and eat a clif bar. This keeps me moving , my gas stops averaged 5 minutes each .

A quick little ride to the store...(Or my answer to the how do you break in a Spyder)

I know , we've all done it , a quick jaunt down to the grocery store to pick up something for breakfast and it turns into a longer ride... thus my ride Friday am felt like I was Forest Gump ...I just started running and running and I ran some more and I never did stop running... Ok , you get the...

    The new Spyder is home

Rode my Goldwing 76 miles to my dealer (90% back roads through upstate NY) this afternoon and swapped it for my new 12 Spyder RT Limited. I rode backroads the whole way there on the wing to intentionally do a quick back to back comparison. I had ridden 2 wheels for 30 years, then went to a 2008...

Had all I can stand can't stand no more; Popeye.

Scotty makes excellent points on the electrical issue, especially given the fact that the dealer must install/connect the battery when assembling your Spyder. The dealer correctly tightening the screws and adding some anticorrosive spray upon assembly would probably eliminate most of the...
