• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    KewlMetal Air Filter Part Number

I have the KewlMetal air filter kit on my 2013 RT-S. Does anyone have a part number for a replacement filter? Thanks.

Making the 2013 Spyder RT-S "Perfect"

Thank you Jeffrey. With all of the negativity out there about the 2013 RT, the purpose of this thread was to help others realize the TRUE potential that it had. I have been riding / racing dirt bikes since I was 10 and I've been riding street bikes since I was 20. I'm 47 now, so I have lots...

    Hand Break??

What about situations that are out of your control? How about a dog, deer, raccoon or wild animal that jumps out in front of you? How about debris that gets kicked into your lane on a multi-lane highway? How about items that get kicked up in your path from the vehicle in front of you? ALL of...

    Hand Break??

Yes, I do use mine as a supplement and yes, your right foot is stronger than your hand, but people who have a real disability do use it solely as a replacement. It actuates the exact same braking system used by the rear foot pedal .....

    Hand Break??

Both of these are great advantages of the hand brake that I have never even thought about. I have an SM5 transmission, so all I know is having foot pegs on both sides. Having the running boards gives you the freedom to stretch and relax a little which can add even more justification for making...

    Hand Break??

The ISCI hand brake is totally worth the money. The foot only brake does do the job but try running through a tight right hander then finding that you need to get your right foot on the brake. What I like about the hand brake is that I always ride with a finger on it just like I did with the...

    2015 F3S SE6 TOURING Spyder mods

Nice work Jim. The modifications you suggested a couple of years ago for my 2013 RT-S were applied and are still working perfectly. Your knowledge and help is very much appreciated.

    RT Vented Windshield Question

I am hands-on as I perform all of my own maintenance, but I am not good enough with a dremel where I think I would be happy with the results. In addition, I want to keep the OEM windshield so that I can put it back in place when I sell the 2013 down the road. Currently, from what I've seen...

    RT Vented Windshield Question

I own a 2013 RT-S and am looking to replace the OEM windshield with a vented one. The main problem I have is that with the OEM windshield at highway speeds, there can be a significant amount of buffeting. It is my understanding that the buffeting issue can be resolved by switching to a vented...

Making the 2013 Spyder RT-S "Perfect"

Thanks Bob. We are still riding and have never stopped but time is what is killing me. My two youngest (twins) are 10 and are sports fanatics. They play baseball (spring / summer / fall), soccer (spring / fall) and basketball (winter) and on top of that, I either head coach or assistant coach...

Making the 2013 Spyder RT-S "Perfect"

Wow. It has been over a year since my last post to this thread, but things are running great with the 2013 and I have not kept up with the forum due to lack of time (not interest). Anyhow, I do have some new and helpful information to add ..... For those who have installed or are looking to...

Can we have a reasonable discussion about this?

Correct. In that situation I would use the rear brake pedal. For me, it is the hard right turns where the hand brake would be the one to use. IMO, having both options is the best of both worlds for all riding situations - just like on a motorcycle.

Can we have a reasonable discussion about this?

I installed the ISCI hand brake on my RT. The main reason was for reaction time. I ride with a finger on the front brake all of the time. You can't do that with your foot. In general, when I brake, it is 80% with the front lever and 20% with the rear pedal. I have also found that going...

2013 Owners Recall Poll and Comments

Nice explanation. So as far as what I'm hearing, there will be scoops installed, the above fueling change, a new canister and a new ECM update to go with it. Is that correct? Am I missing anything? Mine goes in on the 23rd to a very competent dealer for the repairs.

    2013 RT Recall

It sounds like you and I are thinking the same thing. If the BRP fix is something that I've already done, then I'll skip it. If it is something that can enhance what I've already done, then I'll have the dealer implement the fix. No matter what it is, I have no regrets with not waiting and...

    2013 RT Recall

I have received mine as well. Does anyone know yet exactly what the repair involves? I have done so many modifications to mine that it might not apply to my bike. I would love to get some new vented panels though ...

    BRP RECALL LETTER

2013 RT. The exact wording in the letter is "Under very hot ambient conditions and low speed riding, the temperature in the engine compartment may rise and thereby increase the risk of a skin burn or a vehicle fire".

    BRP RECALL LETTER

I got the letter today as well. There was no mention as to what the fix is. Anyone know? Luckily, I have had no heat issues and done updates to be proactive, so I can wait.

    Horsepower

That says it all right there. I have an RT and a Honda VFR800 sport touring bike and the VFR will walk away from the RT in any gear, RPM or speed. To be fair though, this is not an apples to apples comparison.

    F3 Honda Copy

BRP needs competition. If Honda got serious about doing something on their own, then that would be a benefit to us all. Honda is known for quality, durability and reliability.
