• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Just Curious - Does RTW stand for RT - White?

    2011 or 2012

That is a SWEET looking machine. I wasn't sure that you got the avitar changed so quickly..... OK - OK: RED and BLUE are the fastest. BLUE is just slower getting to MY DOOR (still waiting for delivery :roflblack:

:agree: Ride it where you are going :);)

    RT vs RS

I have to agree with ARNTUFUN. I like the looks of the RS better than the RT. I had my RS equipped with Corbin bags and 1" risers. Kind of a "Sport Tourer" that did it's job over 75,000 km and Coast to Coast riding. Looking forward to the comfort of the RT and trust I can do some serious...

    Chrome Handlebar Cover

Hey Fast Fraser.... Where's the Pictures? Sounds like it would look awesome, but I wanna see it. Thanks for the warning though, I think I will leave mine alone til I have a load of time on my hands. 6 hours for you = at least a dozen for me :opps:

    40-45 mph shimmy

Good idea. I might add, check for flat spots in the tire the Same way. Jack up the Spyder, hold something up to reference in FRONT of the tire and spin it. If it is not round you'll find the reason for a bounce on one side. It would usually be OK at faster or slower speeds.

    Soar Butt

Be sure not to over inflate the AirHawk. It will feel like being perched & a bit like floating on top. I inflate mine, sit on it and open the valve to expel all of the air & then give it 2 short puffs of air. Works great for me. I did the same for both my Original AirHawk and the R

    SPYDER SCRAPER

Spyder is also a Paint Ball gun and Fiat has has a Spyder for a long time. The term "Spyder" is a term for a Roadster, so any manufacturer can use the term. Kind of like Coupe, could be used by anyone :)

    Flag holder for RT

Of course when you are in a nother country, THAT country's flag is the one one the right. That is the Canadian Flag would be the flag to the right in Canada and when I go to the US of A... The US flag gets put onto the right side.

I had the AirHawk rectangular seat and it was great. I bought the Airhawk R a few months ago and it is AMAZING. I would recommend it in a heartbeat.

Sounds like Excellent advice. Would never have thought of that. One of the reasons this is such a great source of information ;)

    numbers

:agree: Right you are! I rode from Toronto to the Canadian west coast, South to Oregon and back east to Maine & New Hamphire. I spent four weeks on the road and saw THREE Spyders. One RT and two RS'. The good thing is, at this rate I won't have to wait in line for my 2012 to arrive ;)

    question for seasoned spyder riders

Yes, you are dogging it. I shift 5,000 - 7,000 rpm. Nice and smooth. I went from a Cruiser to the Spyder and it took me a year to realize it. As a rule of thumb I Cruise at about 1/2 the red line RPM. Shift at 2/3 to 3/4 (unless I am riding hard, then I push it a little more)

    21 mpg?!?

:agree:I am still running my RS and have kept track of every tank. Not much variation with low RPM shift or higher (around 6,000 to 7,000 rpm) The first mile or so after start up I don't really "boot it", but these Rotax Engines are not ones that need to be pampered. They are work horses made...

RTS, Where did the term come from?

Of course RT-S is Roadster Touring - "Special"

    cleaning the spyder

Thanks for Sharing! I have been using honda Shine for years and it works well on Windshield and plastic. When it runs out, I will pick up some BRP XPS. I think XPS is a division of BRP as there are a number of products with that inscription alongside the BRP Brand

    Paint on muffler!!

The paint came off of my muffler. First in "chunks" and then just peeled away over time. The RS has virtually no Black on it all all now. I was thinking of just polishing it up and having it "polished stainless" BUT I have traded it in for a new 2012 RT-S so I will let the Dealer deal with it ;)...
