• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Tinkering with my belt

I ordered a Cricket II to see what my belt tension is AND so that I would have it for when I need to replace the rear tire. Jacked up the rear so the tire was off the floor and checked the tension. WOW ... Checked several more times and got the same results. Over 300 ... off the scale! got out...

Thanks everyone! Don't know why :dontknow: I didn't think of the LED bolts in the dash. That's an awesome idea. That's what I'm gonna do. :2thumbs:

    Instrument panel turn indicator

OK. I've not had even 50 posts yet, but, I've done a fair share of reading. I've also got a couple daze of wrenching on various vehicles. I know the instrument turn indicators are worthless in daytime hours. I have replaced the micro led instrument bulbs on a truck I once owned. They too were...

    "Black Hole" Lesson learned ...

Ya know ... if that's an invite ... We might take you up on that next summer. As long as black fly season is over. Had enough of them as a Boy Scout in the 60's in Algonquin Park. Hope there's a campground near you.:yes::yes::roflblack:

    Sadddlebag Issues

I read somewhere that you should always LOCK the trunk/side bags when moving. If you're doing this and they still pop open, I would see the dealer.

    after market equipment

I see you're somewhere in NC. If you are near Winston Salem, Honda, Sea Doo and Can-Am of Winston Salem seems to be a great dealer, HOWEVER, they are BUSY. It is riding season and everyone and their brother has waited til the last minute to get their bike/trike serviced. They installed my...

    "Black Hole" Lesson learned ...

OK ... I messed up. Note to self ... Never use the back seat as a parts tray. So, while installing my "Magic Mirror Mounts" from Lamonster, I dropped two of the old plastic mounts into the dreaded BLACK HOLE. Now the real question is ... Where do these parts actually wind up AND can they be...

    Hot ankles

Wearing arc-flash jeans at work and Kevlar Slider jeans when not. Having rode 2-wheelers for so long, it just don't feel right without. Besides, we're too old to grow skin grafts now. BTW, NC house rep recently introduced a bill that would allow 18 year old bikers with 1-year experience to ride...

    Measuring AmerSeal?

Personally, I use a 78.09% nitrogen, 20.95% oxygen, 0.93% argon, 0.04% carbon dioxide, and small amounts of other gases in my tires. I had used "RideOn" in my Kawasaki Voyager and it too made a mess of the wheels when it came time to change tires. Soooo nuttin' else in mine.

    Boot review

+++ for the Bates boots "One of Bates most popular styles, this classic 8" tactical boot features a side zip for easy on and off and cushioned removable insert for extra comfort." Only drawback is not all of them are waterproof, BUT, they flow a ton of air and usually dry out fairly quick...

    Helmet shapes?

Most helmets use some type of "Styrofoam" (for lack of a more technical term) on the interior of their helmets. Some manufacturers use more than one type and at differing densities to achieve better crash ratings, internal air flow or fit. Using a mechanical clamp or a spoon to crush or reshape...

    Continuing DESS Issue?

Huh ... the things I'm finding out about my new ride! Wow ... any other hidden gremlins I should know about before our week long trip at the end of June?!? We'd sure hate to get stranded for something simple to fix like moving the trike and turning the key 5x's. :opps:

    Vibration in the handlebars normal?

I bought my 2015 RTL with only 2500 miles on it and I had a BAD handlebar wobble. Almost like a 2-wheeler death wobble. It would start around 45 mph and got faster in frequency up to around 70 mph. I really hated it and was afraid to go any faster ... or further. So ... I ordered up a pair of...
