• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Cold weather gear discussion

I used to use a snowmobile suit when the temps got down below 40 degrees F. Nowadays I feel the cold more - heated gear is the only answer for me. It's either a Gerbing jacket liner or Gerbing heated parka-style jacket, heated gloves and heated chaps. With good boots and warm socks, keeping...

Has anyone given their Spyder a "Name"???

It's the same as all the rest of my vehicles... (unprintable) when it doesn't work as I want it to. I've never been into the anthropomorphic fallacy of naming machines. Calling them names when they malfunction, however... that's a different story. :D

Sirius/XM radio antenna - mounting location?

Both of my bike/Spyder antennas (both Garmin units connected to Zumo 550s) are on a RAM mount on the right handlebar.

    Tire idea

I think a tire sticky thread is a good idea. May not be as fun but I get tired of trying to parse the various threads for what to put on my F3 when the time comes.

    Weather Bummer

Snow today in Northern Nevada. Not a whole lot, but enough to keep the F3 in the garage plugged into life support. Next weekend doesn't look any better. Maybe the riding season is over, maybe we'll get a day here and there.

    October Weather News

Carson City, NV area went from pleasant and warm yesterday to low 40's and very windy today.

    It's a little bit trashy.

That's cleaner than my 2017 F3L was. Mine had been a rodent hotel for some time, judging from the nest materials and other "leavings".

New spyder owner, old motorcyclist: is there a kit to add a handlebar brake lever

I'm one of those who want a hand brake. It's not programming, it's geometry and ergonomics. With the footpegs in a position that's comfortable, I have to move my foot to get it on the brake, and I have to flex my ankle more than it's comfortable in order to fully depress the pedal. I just...

    Western Fires !!!

It's been pretty ugly in northern NV for the past couple of weeks, too. We had a couple of lighter days here and there, but for the most part the Sierras just across the valley from me were invisible. My wife also has asthma and has been mostly hunkered down at home. Today was the first time...

    Next Generation Spyder?

I don't necessarily need a tilting Spyder or a diesel Spyder (although a turbo diesel might be pretty cool!) but I'd like to see an F3 style with a shaft rather than belt drive and larger, sturdier luggage - especially the trunk. Not that I'd turn my nose up at a tilting Spyder... :D

    August weather news

Wouldn't have minded a ride today but with all the fires over in CA, going outside is like picking up a smoking habit. I can't even see the Sierras just across the valley! I'd show you all a pic, but it would just be solid gray...

    I'm easily amused

Watching the "tree" and the "ghost" get dumped on their butts by their intended victims was pretty funny... funnier than watching their intended victims run away. Guess none of them CCW'd... all you could say after that would be :opps:

Forgive Me If This Has Already Been Posted...

It's kinda cool, but kinda ugly, too. The sad part is that once you've done that to your Slingshot, you might as well have bought a small sports car. Probably be cheaper if you did. That's not to say I wouldn't rock a fully covered Slingshot, but not that color!

    August weather news

Thunderstorms, a little rain actually managing to reach ground level, alternating with 100+ degrees. At least it washed the smoke from the Loyalton (CA) fire out of the air!

Red Rock Ryde-in St. George, Utah - 2nd August UPDATE

Website doesn't display properly in Firefox for me, either. Switching to Chrome, it displays correctly. Something about the coding doesn't play well with Firefox, methinks. Regretfully, we won't get to go this year... I managed to get an infection in one of my elbows (of all places) and we're...

    Garage Door opener Spyder f3-S

I took one of our garage door fobs, soldered a two-conductor wire to the button connections on the circuit board and connected that to a generic push button. I drilled the blank switch cover to the left of the handlebar and mounted the button there. The garage door opener is strapped to the...

    OEM armrest F3L

I let my wife get on first and get off last, that way I can give her a helping hand if needed. She likes the armrests as it gives her a convenient handhold while mounting and dismounting.

If Honda built a better tryke, would you buy it ??

If one of the major manufacturers adopted anything like the Tilting Motor Works system, I'd strongly consider dumping the F3 for it. The Spyder is fun but I miss leaning.

Do you still have a regular motorcycle along with your Spyder ??

I sold my Victory Cross Country after getting the F3, it took a few months but I'm looking for a lighter two-wheeler to ride strictly one-up.

    Does Anyone Rember StA?

I would be interested as my mother lives in Mountain Home and I haven't seen her in several years... might be my last chance. Getting to do some touring would be a plus. Guess that depends on how this pandemic plays out.
