• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Mobile 1 4T motorcycle oil 1st Gear SE6 clutch slipping

I have run Mobil 1 4T Oil on my 2016 RTL for 36,000 miles, and plan to continue. I started using it after the first 3000 Oil service. 007James

    2020 RT Limited?

I don’t like the chatter of the Belt shaking the mirrors, Foot Plates, Tupper Ware, and front of the Vehicle. No matter how tight or loose the Belt is adjusted, the Chatter Vibration will always resurface at various speeds. If it’s tight, then it’s smooth at 70 MPH, but chattering at 50-60 MPH...

    2020 RT Limited?

MY 2016 RT Limited has 38,000 on it, and I just bought the 3 year BEST Ext.,Warrantee, so is good until Sept.2022. I will never buy another Belt driven Spyder. The only temptation to buy another would be if they change the belt to Shaft Drive. 007James

    2020 RT Limited?

Do you intend to trade your 14, or try to privately sell it? I think it might be difficult to unload a Spyder with 60,000 miles on it to any private owner. Unless you offer it for Dealer Trade in value and further discount for the high mileage. If the Dealer marketed it, they would have a better...

Holding Their Resale Value Better: F3 Limited or RT Limited?

RT Limited, with the 1330 engines, IMO. With ALL the options. 007James

    Harbor Freight Cycle Lift

HaHa. I also have the Harbor Freight Motorcycle Jack that has been in the unopened box in my garage that I bought over a year ago. I had real good intentions of using it to Jack up both my Spyder, as well as my Harley, to start changing my own oils again. So, a month ago, It was time for my...

Ball Bearings & Metal Ring Found in Engine Oil During 3K Mile SVC - Help!

I agree 100% that nothing but a complete new engine would satisfy me, if this Spyder was mine! I would never feel satisfied that these loose balls and retainer ring pieces didn’t cause damage to other parts of the engine or Tranny that would show up by surprise any time in the future. BRP should...

Ball Bearings & Metal Ring Found in Engine Oil During 3K Mile SVC - Help!

Kudos to a great Dealer! We need more like them. Truthfully, I wonder how many Dealer “Technicians” across the U.S. and Canada, would have NOT reported finding the loose Ball Bearings and Retainer Ring in the Oil and just refilled with new Oil & Filter, because its peak riding season, and they...

    Another "Check DPS" warning

FWIW,...I had a 2012 RT Limited I bought new, and lost count of how many times I got that DPS orange alert on my dash screen. Every time I took it back to my Dealer, they would reset the Codes, on BUDS, and do a manual alignment using the Factory method. They didn’t have a Laser Alignment Tool...

Juuuust missed hitting a Deer! Great brakes on these things!

I hit one with my 2012 RT Limited in Nov. 2016 in N.W. Virginia. I was doing about 50 MPH on a country road, and never even saw the Deer to try and dodge it, until I ran over it. I broke both of its back legs, but I hung on and never flipped the Spyder. In fact, it happened so fast, I never even...

    Front Sprocket Spline Failures

AKA, was the engine on your 09 rebuilt under Warrantee? If not, who did it, and how many hours approx. Labor was required, and total cost of rebuilding? I think that if an engine is under Warrantee, and a Mom & Pop Dealer with non Certified Can-Am Spyder Mechanics are called to the Task of...

    Front Sprocket Spline Failures

Oneway, ....pretty much same on my RT. First Failure at 21,500, and the 2nd at 33,800 miles. Both fixed under Warrantee, and I just bought another 3 year BEST Extended. So my next Sprocket failure will cost me $50 Deductible, plus more down time. Obviously, I wonder how many more miles my 3rd...

How many Owners buy the B.E.S.T. Spyder Extended Waurentee Insurance?

Yes, now you got it figured out right. Two years original Factory Warrantee, plus optional 3 year B.E.S.T. Extended Warrantee, which adds up to 5 year Max. all Can-Am Warrantees that must use Authorized Spyder Dealers to do the work. ( unless negotiated other wise.) 007James

How many Owners buy the B.E.S.T. Spyder Extended Waurentee Insurance?

Are you certain it was B.E.S.T. 5 year Extension you bought? BRP told me that 3 years Extension was the Maximum, B.E.S.T. in addition to the 2 year Factory Warrantee, so 5 years would be the Max. BRP offers. But there are other, After Market, Extended Warrantees, like those sold by Western for...

How many Owners buy the B.E.S.T. Spyder Extended Waurentee Insurance?

I bought the B.E.S.T. 3 year extended Warrantee about a week ago. My Dealer matched my best price. Since they will continue doing all my Spyder Service and repairs, as long as I still live here, ( been here 9 years, with no plans of moving), so they matched my best Price. After having 2 front...

    Front Sprocket Failure

Final Update on my 2nd failed Sprocket Pulley adventure: As far as the Part Number being changed on the Sprocket, I have yet to get the Paper Work on my Warrantee work, so can’t say if there is a new Part Number. But, I really doubt that the Number has been changed, or that the current Sprockets...

    Riders advantage extended warraty

That grinding noise on deceleration only, is the exact alert of stripped splines on your front Sprocket Pulley. Run a search here on Sprockets or Pulley, and you will find many past posts. The Sprockets have been failing usually around the 20,000 miles mark, with some sooner, some later. Mine...

    Done with Spyder

Cadre, you wrote,...”Now I have my Spyder, living in Hawaii... No dealers here... ”. You must feel worse than an Astronaut that just landed on the Moon with his Can-Am RT Limited and only the Tool Kit that came under the seat, and his iPad to access the Spyder Owner’s Manual online,.....just in...

    Done with Spyder

Harleys are so simple, as compared to ALL Spyders. Plus, Harley Dealers are dedicated to selling and servicing ONLY Harleys, So they are like comparing apples and watermelons! What I really like about Harleys is, the “ Three Hole Oil” changes. The Engine oil, the Primary oil, and the Tranny and...

    Done with Spyder

Larry, I am very sorry to hear your disappointments. But if its a 2018, it must be still under Warrantee, so it will EVENTUALLY get fixed, after your Dealer gets caught up on fixing Cash Customers. Most Dealers work on Warrantee work when their Cash Customers thin out, because they make very...
