• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    which cup holder

I had a swivel mount an a trike, and the swivel works. Therein lies the problem - it swivels. We lost 2 mugs when the bumps got the swivel turning upside down, and I got a lap full tea when a cup flipped and the top came off. I'll stick with the non-rotating cup holders. Love me the RAM...

Do you still have a regular motorcycle along with your Spyder ??

Divested ourselves of most of the stable in the past 2 years. We had 1990 Electraglide Sport (aka FLHS), a 2007 Trike Shop (now RoadSmith) Road Hawk VW based trike, a 2007 Goldwing 1800 with a Champion trike kit, a 2013 Triumph Bonneville and the 2018 Spyder RTL. The Road Hawk was the first to...

    Sturgis Rally

And on the other hand, Bikes, Blues and BBQ in Fayetville, AR, supposedly the 4th or 5th largest rally in the country and the largest charity rally has been cancelled for this year. They announced it on the Facebook page, but as yet they haven't updated the website...

    RainX and helmets

+1 on Steve W. to use vertical strokes on the windshield, and I also apply that to the face shield on our helmets. Learned that from my motorcyclist ophthalmologist - seems the eye/brain recognizes horizontal lines better than vertical ones, so horizontal scratches are much less noticeable. He...

    Various wiring questions

Hey, Monk - I'm the one who posted the DIY fuze block in the frunk. I also added a Spyderpops bumpskid and a Spyderpops rear lighting kit. The Spyderpops stuff is a plug and ply to the OEM harness with original style connectors, and designed to work with the Nanny on our machines. The frunk...

Trip to Ozarks (MO & AR)

I've ridden in the Ozarks often, could be because I live about 40 miles south of Joplin, at the northern edge of the Ozarks in our area. As I go to the east, the Ozark Plateau moves north. But I digress. I find pretty much the normal traffic, as Missouri's "lockdown" allowed engaging in outdoor...

Coolest, best vented mesh riding jacket?

I feel your pain on the heat and humidity. Here in SW MO most of the summer just standing up outside causes much perspiration. We have evaporative cooling vests for the hot rides. Soak them in water for a few minutes, wring them out so they don't drip and get your clothes soaked (unless you want...

    USB Connection at handle bars.

I ran auxiliary wiring from the fuse block I set up for power - as the link above: https://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showthread.php?116532-Fused-electrical-distribution-block - Here is a link to a video of "Coach Bob" running a single wire to the USB rocker switch outlet...

What seats are best for touring?

Try the cheaper option first, Airhawk or another of the widely available seat pads, then maybe a gel insert like Motorcycle Dave has. A lot of folks like the aftermarket seats like Ultimate or Mustang and such. Usually a different riding position, and will have variations moving the pilot up or...

    Phone mount

Two of the places I get RAM mounts are these: https://www.rammount.com/ > The RAM Mounts store. A vast array of products to mount just about anything. < https://mounts.factoryoutletstore.com/ > And aftermarket store with...

    Phone mount

Yes! - the RAM Quick Grip is adjustable and holds very securely on all 4 sides. Comes in 2 sizes. I have the smaller one for my Galaxy 7 with a Body Glove case. I can still go a bit bigger before going for the larger size. Lamonster Garage has both and RAM mounts, balls and arms here...

    Post-ride disinfect

As with most above, riding is largely motorized social distancing except for gas stops. I like to use busy gas stations as the gas will be fresher, and there is less chance of foreign matter or water in the fuel. This means a lot of hands on the equipment. I sanitize my hands before I touch...

The Cathouse Lounge (the food portion is the Pied Piper Inn) does have pretty good food. Prices are in line with most of the area eateries in a tourist area. Truth be told, during weekends with nice weather almost everywhere in Eureka is the hottest biker spot in Eureka Springs. The Cathouse is...

Missouri most likely helmet optional in August.

The provision that those under age 26 must wear helmets came from an amendment by Missouri Senator Dave Schatz. https://www.senate.mo.gov/mem26/ The reasoning was that younger people can be carried on their parents insurance until age 25. He has included this language to kill helmet...

Missouri most likely helmet optional in August.

The Missouri General Assembly has passed a large transportation bill which includes helmet modification and will go to Governor Mike Parson. He will have 45 days to veto it (At this point this seems to be not likely, the bill is clean, and the Governor has said he will support helmet...

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Finally installed the Spyderpops rear LED light kit. Really makes the rear of the trike more noticeable. Haven't been able to take it out on a road test due the the wet we've been having lately.

    Super Visor

Had one of these on 2 former helmets. They work well on helmets on which they fit, unfortunately they don't work with our present lids, I've gone with the black tape strip. I got mine from Aerostich Rider Warehouse - they are apparently not in stock now, but there are still a lot of reviews and...

Eureka is in our area, being in town the 24th sounds good. Ours is a blue pre-2020 RTL with pin striping, Spyderpops rear LED lights and front modulating bumpskid and a rear licence plate frame stating the trikes name as "Itsy Bitsy". Hope catch up with some of y'all. Is there some meet-up...

    Cup Holder

First thing to figure out with cup holders is what kind of vessel you are going to use. We use 24oz Bubba Hero Sport bottles, and most holders wouldn't work so I made our own using the RAM mounts.(Pics below) They are connected to the trike with a Spyder Cuff on the front and a RAM Tough Claw...
