• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

New to my Spyder & it wobbles down the road! Ideas?

Most of the above mentioned the many ways a Spyder could be not tracking correctly, but the reason steering on Spyders is so quick is that they have electrically assisted power steering. Compared with other bikes, and especially trikes that don't have a rake kit, this makes the Spyder feel very...

My state inspection experience - just a rant

***Warning - Slight Hijacking *** When we were young and stupid a friend had a car with a hidden switch to turn off one of his headlights. Go by a cop and as soon as the LEO turned to follow he he would turn on the headlight. Great fun for 16 and 17 year olds in small town early '70's. Somehow...

Brand new Spyder RT rider needs an answer!

A few days ago while I was fueling up the RTL a "Real Biker"™ on a non-HD V-Twin complete with a Harley shirt, still shiny chaps, chain wallet, doo-rag, nose-pickers and an insta-biker patch-leather vest that are sold at rallys with the "live to ride","Free Spirit", "Route 66", etc. patches...

My state inspection experience - just a rant

Last session Missouri changed the vehicle safety inspection window from the first 5 years from new (based on model year, not purchase date) to 10 years or 150,000 miles, whatever comes first. The RTL is good until 2028, my 2013 Triumph Bonneville was inspected in '18, but is now good until 2023...

Brand new Spyder RT rider needs an answer!

We have had both 2 wheelers and 3 wheelers of various makes in the garage since 1992 - 2 wheels is a bike , 3 wheels is a trike. I ride when on either one, and when I do I am out for a ride. When in the car I can go out for a drive, and when I am out for a drive I drive the car. But when I drive...

Can I fit aftermarket mirrors on Lamonster top cuff?

The Spyder Cuff I got on our 2018 RTL has 1/4-20 pre drilled holes only as deep as the cuff is thick. Some of the holes on the cuff also have an plug that takes an allen key that keeps gunk from getting in the threads when that hole isn't used. There are mirrors that attach with the RAM mounts...

Loading your Spyder up a steep ramp?

As in my post (#2 above) there are 2 entry problems with our short, steep ramp. First is the trike is so low, and the nose is in front of the wheels. The front of the RTL hit the ramp even before the front wheels touched it. Effectively, we had to lengthen the ramps to lessen the approach angle...

Loading your Spyder up a steep ramp?

For us it isn't the traction that is a problem, it is the angle of the ramp - without the extra ramps and jacks as in my post above the nose of the RTL hits the ramp, and the Spyder gets high centered going into the garage. I ran into a camper that had traction problem with his Spyder up the...

Loading your Spyder up a steep ramp?

We have a bumper pull toy hauler, it's not as tall as a 5th wheel so the ramp is short, therefore steep. It also doesn't have a dovetail. I put rv support jacks under the door to lessen the approach angle of the ramp so the Spyder doesn't high center going into the garage area. To get the trike...

Wingding, Lamonster, Arkansas Pigtail... ride suggestions?!

I live in the Ozarks just north of state line and Bentonville, AR in Missouri. The list of good riding is long - From the north at Eureka Springs on Hwy 23 to the Pig Trail all the way to Ozark, AR on the Arkansas River. A bit to the east is a town called Altus in wine country. Many good...

Rear left storage compartment is stuck

+1 on what Lew L said. Our left saddlebag on our '18 RTL needs to be pushed in as I pull the opening lever. It's not that much of a problem as it always comes open, but I probably should adjust the cable and lube it. Oh, well, I'll just call it an anti-theft feature.

USB power in extra mount hole - where did you run yours from?

Good ideal to not upset the Nanny as BLUEKNIGHT said. On most of the bikes/trikes we have had in the last 15 years, I have added a fuse block attached to the battery. Here's how I did it on our 2018 RT Limited. It can go anywhere you can find the space, and I energised the solenoid from the...

    Peaceful Ride To Nowhere Today

Some of our favorite rides are rides to nowhere. We live in the Ozarks, the roads follow the ridgeline and valleys of the terrain, and there are very few straight roads. A few months ago we left in the morning and ran through most of 2 tanks of gas. We would see a road that looked interesting...

    Loading Spyder into Toy Hauler

As Steve W. mentioned, this is an old thread, but reading the post with the winch I believe he hooked to to the floor attachment points using a chain between to of them and attaching the winch to the chain between the floor hooks in line with where he wants to pull the Spyder to. He put the...

Has anyone given their Spyder a "Name"???

Boris was my first choice, love the music John Entwistle did for the Who and on his own. The Admiral put the veto on that idea, she thought the song was too weird. MAZO EMS2 sez: The bike....never understood the need to name a motorcycle...to each his/her own I suppose We never named our 4...

    Increasing Visibility?

As for modulators, I got a Spyderpops bumpskid with the LED lights, and found that Spyderpops sells a remote controller that changes the brightness and pattern of the LEDs. During the day I set it to emulate the headlight modulator - it does not flash at that setting, but actually does modulate...

What do you call our Can Am’s

We have had both motorcycles and motortricycles (Missouri always mentions both together in the vehicle codes.) since 1993. We call our RTL the Spyder, or sometimes the trike because, well, it is. I also have a 2013 Triumph Bonneville T100, and as the other 2 wheelers I've had, it is the bike...
