• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Fuel Economy - is anyone getting better?

I sometimes run 87 Octane in mine, but remember that these are high-compression engines and if the weather gets warm, they may begin to pre-ignite (knock or ping) with the low octane fuel. Carlo (of BRP) told me that if the ECM senses pre-ignition that it will retard the timing resulting in less...

Which Event are you Most Looking Forward to This Year?

Which event? Spyderfest 2012 at Cowtown takes my vote, hands down. Then I suppose a distant 2nd would be Spyder Owners Event in Durango, CO. Then Lamont's BBQ. Then SITA 2012 (although I may be on my way to Alaska then)

Any way to beef up amps available?

PPS My bad:opps: The alternator output of the RT is 650 Watts. This means that the maximum current is 54.2Amps. Still enough to run just about anything you want.;)

Any way to beef up amps available?

Power In general Power In = Power Out (with some loss due primarily to heat production). Power = Voltage x Current. A 120 Watt inverter would put out 12V at 10Amps. This would still have to come from the power train of the Spyder. But at 970Watt(as I recall) output of the Alternator should be...

Will new shocks fix handling on windy roads

Handling :agree: with Scotty. Also, I had a 2010 and the handling was very "squirrely". I finally found that the alignment was off and the wheels "toed-out":gaah:. A realignment became necessary which you can do at home with little laser pointer. Exact instructions are somewhere in Spyderlovers...

Time to start planning our trip to Spyderfest

After Spyderfest I will be leaving Spyderfest on Sunday or Monday. I have reservations in Maggie Valley for May 3(Thursday) so I'll have to kill some time between the end of Spyderfest and May 3. If anyone is headed East and has something interesting to do, maybe we should hookup.:dontknow:

When will BRP start sign up for Durango event

Spyder Owners Event I already have my motel reservations that I made without knowing where the event is to be held. Someone found out that the motel, Knights Inn, is located in a bad area of town but without knowing where the event is, I stuck with my original choice. BRP needs to get moving on...

    Trying to decide!

Trying to Decide I am in pretty much the same boat, i.e. I have a new knee, I'm a bit overweight (lost 25 lbs., though) and I have a 2010 RT. As reported elsewhere the RT gets about 30 mpg which is about 150-180 miles. That's 2 to 3 hours of riding and I am ready for a short break, anyway...

    Not Good

Cursed White Stuff The temps actually got up into the 60s a couple of weeks ago and I managed to get out on my Spyder. I am recovering from a Total Knee Replacement and I wanted to see if I could get my leg over the seat. All went well and I am now waiting for Spring.
