• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Exhaust Wrap 2013 RT

Not to be negative, but good luck with that. They will do what BRP dictates or you pay for. Wrap, insulate, divert and be happy. That's what I did and haven't had a complaint since.

    Lower block off plate?

If the Spyder doesn't end up having heat issues without the lower pans removed, blocking the lower would have a serious blow torch effect on your knee and upper leg. Heat may rise, but it's far from rising fast enough to stay off the rider. Increasing the pressure would make things worse.

    Exhaust Wrap 2013 RT

That may be a long wait. In the meantime, you miss out on all kinds of fun and just get sour at the fact that you're still waiting. BRP has promised a fix. It's called a 2014. Just like the 2013 was the fix for the previous gen, but failed. My recommendation is to spend the $30 on the material...

Need Opinion On 3 Different Buying Options

I've read about all of the promises for the 2014 RT, but don't see a thing for the 2014 ST, except for "New Airflow Side Panel Design". Am I missing something?

    what a shame

I guy pulled a similar stunt shouldering an RPG and pointing it at passing cars. He got lucky and ended up with serious trouble with the law is all. Unfortunately, this kid wasn't as lucky. :(

    Adventure in wrapping exhaust pipes!

So long as the pipes stay clean and moisture free, the wrapping will last. Riding in rain too often will likely shorten the life, but the Spyder pipes are tucked up under the Tupperware enough they should be fine. That's part of the heat problem and the real reason why the master cylinder and...

    Adventure in wrapping exhaust pipes!

I think that would hugely complicate the process. Not sure if the spray would crack and peal when flexed. It could also remain tacky until baked on which would make the whole process doubly fun. It may be a good question for their customer service department. They were pretty helpful when I...

    Adventure in wrapping exhaust pipes!

That's mainly to protect the wrap against moisture. Some absolutely need it, some wraps can go without depending on the material. If the pipes are wrapped in place, it's going to be near impossible to spray them. According to Thermo-Tec support, the copper wrap can go without, but they still...

    ceramic coating

All you can really go on is user reports, since none of us are trying to sell anything. Even in labs you can't replicate the Spyder environments. Most tests I've read about heat two or three pipes on a bench and measure surface temperatures. They then conclude nothing was gained, because the...

    Adventure in wrapping exhaust pipes!

I don't know if it's actually being boiled away. The system is pressurized, which is why the vapors can burn when the cap is loosened and the pressure releases, but cool fuels burns more efficiently than hot, so it definitely helps.

    Adventure in wrapping exhaust pipes!

Pipe wrapping has been used in racing for decades to improve performance. The gasses start to cool immediately as they travel through the pipe and wrapping them slows the cooling, which helps with evacuation. Better evacuation = better performance = better mileage. On the Spyder, the air box...
