• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

To Swaybar or Not to Swaybar

The sway bar was the second mod installed on my 2012 RTL when it was new. It is by far the best improvement to handling that is currently available, in my opinion. As far as why BRP doesn't do this from the factory, is anyones guess. I have been riding factory motorcycles for many years and I...

    Considering Moving

I was born and raised in the Northeast, PA, NY State, RI, and Maryland. We moved to North Carolina in 1979, and it is my favorite, so far. We have a good time when visiting other places, but we call North Carolina home.

    Palm Sunday Afternoon Pix

Just a FYI since you are in the area.... We have a group of about 7 Spyders, some times more or less, that meet every Sunday at Punchy's Diner in Concord for breakfast at 9:30. We've been meeting there for a couple years now, rain or shine, on Spyders or in cages. The group met this morning...

Rode to breakfast this morning to meet up with our Spyder group in Concord, NC. We meet every Sunday morning, been doing this for over 2 years now. It was in the 30's when we left the house. A short 46 mile ride round trip. We had the only spyder present today, all the others arrived in cages...

    TWO BROTHERS EXHAUST FOR SALE

The Two Brothers RT "no trailer hitch exhaust" will work with a trailer hitch, you only need to rotate it 90 degrees and space the bracket out about 1/8 inch. You can get the kit from Two Brothers to move the pipe outboard, but if you rotate it you save some $$$.

    Won't Start

The same thing happened to me a couple weeks ago. I finally got it started after about six tries. We went on a 100 mile ride and didn't shut it down until I got home, I tried to restart when I got home, and it started right up. I did, however reseat the relays in the frunk and the prestart...

how to keep squirrels off your deck

My tenants and neighbors have my permission to shoot the little ba****ds on my property. They have cost me considerable $$ from damage they've done to my buildings, I had to replace the corners on the vinyl siding on one 2 story building, they would chew "steps" up the corners and chew holes in...

    hitches

I bought the BRP hitch from the dealer. It includes the wiring harness for around $500.00. I asked about installation, they quoted me 3 hours labor. I said I'd like to give it a shot myself. I had it installed and fully functional in 1.5 hours. Don't be afraid of the installation, the...

    STILL RIDING ??

Traditionally, in these parts, motorcycle riders do a New "Years Day Ride" just to kick off the new year on a positive note. I didn't see any posts of Spyder Ryders doing this. It's a pretty big thing in the Motorcycle community. We rode 125 miles today and didn't see as many bikes as I have...

    Had a great ride yesterday

We participated in the gathering at Myrtle Beach in 2014. We enjoyed it. I haven't seen anything regarding it for 2015. It seems like it conflicted with Spyderfest in 2014. We will be attending Spyderfest in 2015.

    Had a great ride yesterday

Yes Sir, We'll do it. I was running on cruise for a good bit of the ryde. I got a bit over 31 mpg, which is excellent for my 998. Rockwell is about 12 miles S.E of Salisbury, a tiny town with 3 traffic lights. I retired in November but while I was working, I did a 100 mile round trip commute...

    Had a great ride yesterday

Hey Lightning, I'm pretty sure it was my wife and I that you saw east of Asheboro. We were on a Lava Bronze RT with LED front fender strips. We turned around 30 miles outside of Raleigh and were headed for home. It starts getting cool around 4, and we were about an hour from home. We also...

    STILL RIDING ??

I know what your saying Bob. Get your rydes in whenever you get a good day. We sold our house in Johnson City, NY and moved to NC in January, 1979. Never looked back or had any regrets. We've lived in Rhode Island, New York, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, and Florida. North...

    STILL RIDING ??

Great day for ryding in NC. The temps were in the upper 50's. Saw two other Spyders out and about. We rode to Morrow Mountain State Park, dozens of bikes were there. Logged 137 miles today and will most likely do more tomorrow as the temps will be in the 60's. Got to get out and take advantage...

    Nice day for riding

The wife and I did 87 miles between visits to our children's houses to partake in Christmas festivities. It was a good day for riding. Planning to head for the Virginia mountains tomorrow. It' great to get out on the Spyder again after several days of rain.
