• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Polished Stainless Exhaust pics!

I spent about a month looking at mufflers on ebay, onine retailers, and local autoparts stores. I figured I could't go wrong spending $43 for a fully welded, polished, stainless steel muffler and after I received it I was right. This is very heavy gauge stainless and the finish was flawless...

No plans for Gatlinburg yet. I think the muffler body is about 5 3/4"s in diameter and the outlet opening is 3 1/2".

    K&N Part Numbers

The K&N part# is 33-2006. I was very happy with how mine fit. I think it was $29.99 at Advance Auto Parts. If you'd like to see some pics, email me at [email protected]. I have a really cool exhaust I'd like to share some photo's of but I haven't been able to load photo's here yet!

    Mels monster windscreen

I have about 1000 miles on mine and It was definitely an improvement over stock for highway riding but I'm 6 feet tall and I'd like to try one 2 or three inches taller. I still get a little bit of wind that catces my helmet. If I hunch down just a little bit my head is completely out of the...

    Gas mileage with mods

Good point! BRP doesn't recommend 87 octane, they recommend a minimum of 87 octane. They're not saying it's the best thing to run in it, they're saying that's the bare minimum you should try to get by with.

    Gas mileage with mods

I know most people think that because the Spyder is capable of running 87 octane, that is all that should be run in it and that there is no benefit from higher octane. BRP's recommmendation is a "minimum" of 87. Temperature, humidity, and elevation can't change the compression ratio but they...

    Gas mileage with mods

For the last two tankfulls I've gotten 36 miles per gallon and I know I'd do better if I'd ride it as easy by myself as I do with my wife on the back. We rode about 150 miles at 30-50 mph, through back country roads and the fuel gauge was at half full. I rode about 50 miles myself at 65-80 mph...

    HANDLE BAR GRIPS

I have Kuryakyn Iso grips with the throttle boss installed on mine. I order 7/8" universal iso grips. One grip is sized to fit over the throttle sleeve. The hardest part of installation was getting the left grip off because it is glued. I used a small phillips screwdriver and jambed it...

    K&N Air Filter - WOW...hang on!

K&N part# is 33-2006. I purchased mine from AdvanceAutoParts.com for $29.99. This isn't listed for the spyder. It was originally produced to fit Chrysler vehicles but it is identical to the spyders. I've got pics but can't figure how to attach them.

    Limp Home Mode

I took it to the dealer and they found that the idle air control valve was bad. There are two sets of windings in the electric motor and one set had no continuity at all. There supposed to have 50 ohms resistance.

    Backfiring?

Re: What Type of Gas There are a lot of interesting opinions here. I'd like to make reference to the 2008 Can Am Roadster factory shop manual($135 and 479 pagest of technical information). Page 469 , technical specifications, Compression ratio 10.7:1. Page 473, Fuel, North America, regular...

Has anyone had their spyder go into LIMP HOME MODE? Haven't had it to the dealer yet but I pulled up the fault code P0505, Idle air control valve.
