• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Shoulders hurt

The bars supplied with the 2020RT/RTL have been identified by many as the source of shoulder fatigue and soreness. There are two common and simple solutions: Lamonster's handlebar riser and F3 bars. I chose the F3 bars and the switch solved all of my shoulder/neck issues and provided a more...

Lamonster Garage RT floorboard risers - adapter is here!

I just stumbled on Lamonster's video about installing floorboard risers on 2020 and later RTs. I've whined about an adapter in the past and now it looks like it is here. I even tried a mock-up (2x4s) to see how much I needed and 1 1/2" was about perfect. And that's what Lamonster offers...

    April Weather News 2021

Yesterday was the first day this year in my mesh jacker. Highest I saw was 75° and it was a little too warm for the liner, but I'm happy to put the horsehide away. There will be many good riding days from now on...

Question for really smart electrical Gurus

I wouldn't give that a second thought -- seems fine to me. The new battery requires less charging current than the old one, so voltage goes up (just slightly).

Ride cut short -- Fuel mystery

The RT spent Saturday at the dealers. It took the better part of a month to get the appointment. The service department was very cooperative and found the sender to be failing. They were kind enough to put things back together so I can ride while we wait for parts. Hope that's the fix!

Lamonster 2" riser install - how did you get enough slack wiring ?

Here is a snip I took from someone else's post. I used this when I put the reduced reach bars on my 2020RT. I wish I could remember who the original poster was. He deserves all the credit -- it sure helped me! If you remove the right hand speaker cover next to the glove box, you'll find the...

Thinking on getting Corbin seat - your opinion? Lead times?

If you call Corbin you'll get great service and you really need their recommendations on materials and such. I had them build a seat for my last HD and it was beautiful. But, it was never really more comfortable than the stock seat. I also had Mean City Cycles re-pad the seat for my Indian...

Question for really smart electrical Gurus

Out of the Box. The most common sulfur smell comes from fuel with a high sulfur content being burned in the catalytic converter. Toyotas were especially known for this and you could get a whiff in your air vents when one passed. If you're sure it's coming from your Spyder, try a different...

    Cat Delete Pipe Recommendations?

Stock 2020RT muffler. And as I say, the sound while riding is fine, perhaps a little lower/fuller sound than stock. It doesn't sound like a Harley nor a Mopar... It also doesn't make the wonderful Whiskey Tenor sound of my old XS750 Yamaha triple.

    Cat Delete Pipe Recommendations?

I've lost ~1.5mpg with my RLS and no baffle. No detectable change in power or torque. If the springs weren't such a pain, I'd put the baffle into the RLS. The riding sound is fine, but if you rev it up in the driveway, it rasps like one of the tinny little rice-burner cars.

Will rider backrest help with pain between shoulder blades?

I would be very cautious about any riser that's not absolutely solid and strong, for use on a Spyder. I'm constantly aware of the amount of force applied to the bars on my RT. It's not a motorcycle, where the pressures applied to the bars almost amount to suggestions and the geometry and...

    2020+ RT REAR jacking point?

Don't use the lower shock mount! The frame ends just in front of the rear shock mount and jacking from that rearmost point of the frame lifts the rear wheel nicely. Using the shock mount can bend the lower mounting bolt.

    What size new Tires (front)?

There's about 2500 miles on my 165/60R15 Vredestein fronts and they've been great. They have all the traction I can handle and they're slightly smaller in diameter than the stock Kendas, based on the manufacturers numbers (if you trust those), so no fit or nanny issues: Kenda 165/55R15...

Access to the Gauge connector - 2020RT

I've been having some intermittent gauge issues -- the kind that poor connections usually cause. I would like to get to the connector on the back of the Gauge panel to clean seal it with silicone grease. How do I get in there?

    2021 RT bars too close

What if you modified the passenger seat to move the backrest lip back a couple of inches? As a simple test, take the passenger saddle off and see if you can move to a comfortable position.

    Torque axle vs Torque nut

This might be the source of some of my problems, specifically the change in alignment going from 90'# to 166'#. I can feel the swing arm crush during this tightening and that's when the alignment changes. The adjusters don't get loose and there is no measurable or observable movement of any...

    Torque axle vs Torque nut

That's interesting -- I've never heard it before. If I understand correctly, you're saying that at the rated torque the fastener will be squeezing 25% harder? So, if I coat the axle nut, threads and washer with anti-seize, I should only torque to 125'#, to achieve the same tightness (squeeze)?

    Update clobbered my Zumo

Nope. It had the commo error and no maps immediately upon update. It was a software update, not a map update.

    Update clobbered my Zumo

Began to download a route to my Zumo XT and Garmin Express said I needed an update. So I clicked 'update'. BIG MISTAKE. After the update connecting the Zumo XT to Base Camp took way longer and gave an error message about a missing file (???/current.gpx). Tried downloading a route and it...
