• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Elka Shocks!!! The Best!!

I stand corrected. I too had John change my rebound dampening at Spyderfest. My original setting was 20 clicks. John changed it to 25 clicks and now the tires seem to follow the terrain better on bumpy roads. However, the preload setting was correct for us.

    Front End Vibration?

I went with OEM. May go aftermarket when the warranty runs out.

    spiderpops bump & skid plate

I had the bump skid, AKA critter splitter, etc., put on at Spyderfest. The ride home was wet, cold and windy. Had a lot of head and cross winds on the way. I really didn't notice any difference in the handling but I do have the Elka front shocks. Since the install of the Elkas the Spyder...

    Front End Vibration?

Mine would do the same thing. At 45 to 50 I could touch my shoe to the back of the front fenders and feel a definite shake. The left was worse than the right side but both did it. I took my front tires to a local tire shop. They removed the Ride-On and balanced. Said they were good to go...

    Front End Vibration?

My Spyder would vibrate at 45 to 50 mph. I already have the Elka shocks so that wasn't the problem. What fixed it was replacing the out of round front tires. I now have over 5K miles on them and no vibrations. Also, if your vibration happens at a certain RPM range then it could be the belt too...

    Elka Shocks!!! The Best!!

If you get the Stage 1 shocks for the front, which is what most people get, you won't have to do any adjustments. They will come preset just for you after Elka gets your information. There are only two adjustments one is the preload and the other is rebound dampening. Both will come preset...

    Elka shocks

If you order a set from Cowtown the folks at Elka will contact you to obtain information such as your style of riding, one or two up, weight, etc. They will come setup for you and ready for installation. The only problem you're going have is getting a set. All of Elka's stock was depleted at...

    re heat shield

What heat shield are you referring to? If it's the SpyderPops catalytic shields that mount under the foot peg support brackets then nothing gets removed. If it's the LaBlock then you should remove the two covers under the engine and replace the two bolts. I have both and they look good on our...

Spyderpops .. Kudos for Bump Shield

I had one of these installed at Spyderfest by the SpyderPops gang and they referred to it as a "Critter Splitter". :roflblack: Whatever the name it looks and works well.

    Tire pressure for long trips

Thanks for the info. This puts my mind at ease. The reason why I was concerned is that on two long trips in the past pulling a trailer with the tire pressure set to the tire manufacturers recommended psi resulted in 3 blowouts. However, both times the two different trailers used had aged tires.

    Tire pressure for long trips

Just wondering what I should set my tire pressure to for long highway speed rides. I normally have the front tires at 17 psi and rear 28 psi with cold tires. During long rides at highway speeds on warm days the tire pressure can rise several psi higher. Should I lower the psi knowing the...

Wind blew my lower deflecter off

The lower wind deflectors are mounted with two torx head screws. Not sure how this could have come off with wind unless it actually broke off.

My manual was in the front trunk. You may want to contact your dealship if you don't have a hard copy. A PDF version is available to download from the Can-Am web site.

    Ticking sound at low speed

Mine does this too but is very subtle. I quits when brakes are applied. This is normal. If it still does it with brakes then it may be the cotter pin hitting the wheel weights.

Spyderfest Routes - How are you getting there?

We are taking MO61 south then getting on MO19 just south of New London. MO19 is a very nice 2 lane road and it gets very scenic as you get close to Hermann.

    So who's getting in Tuesday?

I think names are the hardest to remember. Sometimes I can't even remember my own name. For the longest time when I was a kid I thought my name was Dangit. All I can remember as a kid is my dad yelling "Dangit, get away from that!"
