• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Finally got a good first ride

I don't think I'm gonna push my luck. The bike I just crashed was supposed to be my last one. Having gotten her to reconsider, I sure don't wanna blow it now! :)

Finally got a good first ride

Good review, it answers some of the questions that I had. One of these days I'm going to have to replace my gear and go finagle a test ride. After I remodel the bathrooms, because if I come home with another bike before I do that I'm gonna get buried with it! :yikes:

Interesting Spyder photos showing the frame, and other parts - very cool!

Great find, thanks for posting that! :2thumbs:

    Love it !!!

:congrats::cheers: You're more generous than I would be. Letting your new Spyder sit unridden for that long on the day you went to pick it up. ;)

Iteresting pics of a Spyder wanna-be

Wow, that's a lot of drive chain! Looks cool though. Does this thing lean?

    Corbin Smuggler

I like the Smuggler concept. It'd be a place to put a little foam in to carry the digital SLR without having to dig into the trunk all the time & still have some protection for the camera. Spendy? Yes, but if it does what you want then price really isn't an issue. At least for me. Maybe that's...

    handguards?

Even with grip heaters there ain't a pair of gloves alive that can keep my finger tips from freezing unless I can keep the wind off them. I had the Strom dialed in by adding a small bit of plastic across the bottom of the stock hand guards. Now that I'm looking hard at a Spyder I need something...

    handguards?

Sooooo.... being a wimp that hates cold hands I'm curious if anyone has fitted handguards to their Spyder to keep the wind at bay? Heated grips will be a must, but the tips of my fingers freeze if I can't keep the wind off them in cooler weather. What say you intrepid Spyder riders?

    General

I would think you could have solved your seating position with risers/new bars. Probably could have fixed any bar vibes as well. Sometimes it takes some tinkerin' to get things right. Are you keeping the Spyder or just replacing it with the Wing? Enjoy the Wing BTW. ;)

Install Ken's race filter and fuel pressure mod.

Just out of curiosity, how much noisier is the intake over the stock airbox? I realize you haven't ridden it yet, but an initial impression and then a post ride impression would be appreciated. :)

"JUST DROVE A CAN AM "TRIKE" AND HATED IT. "

45 minutes? Try a whole week. Can't remember from 3 hours before the crash until I left the hospital. Broke my collar bone, 6 ribs, had a L1 compression fracture w/some disk damage for good measure & I blew my ACL in my left knee. Wore a back brace for 4 months. Still don't remember it. Got...

    footpegs

Thanks guys, I appreciate the feedback and that's probably how I'll have to go. Her comment prompted the original question. I mean she's got like a 48" inseam or something. Ok, not quite that long, but we're the same height & her legs are at least 2" longer than mine. Not that that's bad, ya...

    Question About Insurance

I checked the other day when I was canceling the insurance on the Strom. The only question they asked me was "How many cc's?" Full coverage with $250 deductibles for comp/collision, no medical- $378/year, which is about $100 a year more than I paid on the Strom (650). Oh, State Farm BTW, with...

    footpegs

Thanks jeuchler, that peg dance thing would be what I'd be trying to avoid. Though it'd less of an issue with a SE & a hand brake I suppose.
