• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Installed rear speakers/control - no volume control

As subj says. Installed the BRP kit this morning, the passenger tuning control works but not the volume control. I rechecked and re-plugged in the switch assembly just to make sure all was good. Any voodoo reset or enablement sequence for the volume or did I get a bum switch? Job was kinda...

What is Elio cooking up now??

Heh....I'm the proud owner of a 2011 vintage Elio shirt and bumper sticker....one of the first suckers to put my $100 in for the 'very limited time opportunity', that has run non-stop for the following 3 years. I use it to work on cars and bikes with, terrible thing to do to an expensive...

    Slingshot by Polaris.......

My 998 is consistently around 30, sometimes a little above, sometimes a little below. Only about 3200 miles on it now, running brp semi-dino. I don't expect much change when I go to full syn though. I sure as heck would not go down to less mpgs....good chance I'll look for a '14 leftover...

    Slingshot by Polaris.......

Anyone found MPG info yet? I'm ass-u-ming with as heavy as that puppy is that MPG wouldn't be great, but if it's up in the 40's there may be one less Spyder in the family. edit: 27mpg. Fahgetabbouit.

No helmet required in NC even as a motorcycle. Our law has been tested, if you ride inside vice astride, no helmet.

Thinking of trading my Harley for a Can Am RT. Tell me how much you love yours

I like my 2012 a lot, but I have a lot of vehicle storage space so kept many two wheelers as well. I switch back between two and three wheels with no issue at all. I can go from roosting and wheelies with the KTM right back onto the Spyder. I'll toss in two unasked for cents. Don't take a...

Lamonster Garage, SpyderLovers and BRP in 2015......

When I had Saab Sonett's, the SIII version didn't get the tilt front end of the earlier models. An enterprising engineer designed a DIY to make your own tilting front end. Since much of what we want to get to is underseat/behind side panels, we really need to design side panels that tilt up...

Lamonster Garage, SpyderLovers and BRP in 2015......

Tires last over 5k, and they are cheap.....that's friggen amazing to this motorcycle rider.

First order of business for Spyder RT-S SE5 newbie

Dittos on the RPMs. Mine is a 2012 SM5, and it goes against the grain to cruise the highway in 4th gear, but I get better MPGs at 5200 or so RPM in 4th then in the low 4k rpm in 5th. I don't hit 5th unless I'm on the Interstate and road is clear so I can boogie. If someone made a smaller...

Lamonster Garage, SpyderLovers and BRP in 2015......

Here's my crystal ball. Repeat of others of course: 2015 gets a Plug in hybrid. I'll go even more specific and say full time electric drive with gas generator a'la Chevy Volt. Colors (of course, new year, color changes). A more 'entry' entry model with either 998 or smaller. More models...

    Finally found it...

Well, in submarines, we sent the non-quals out to get things like Relative Bearing Grease and Buckets of Steam. Waaaay back in boy scouts...sent the new kids at camp to get the Cannon Report.

    Ride-on

Call me contrary :), I tried ride on, still have a bunch of bottles here, discovered it was useless in tube type tires so I went back to slime for everything. I'm do my own tire changes so it doesn't bother me on the non-tube tires to wash the slime out. I run slime in the front tractor tires...

Just darned impressed on how these Spyders handle heavy weather

My commute is about 65 miles each way, so Spyder gets a workout. Yesterday I didn't make it home before a BIG series of thunderstorms rolled through. High winds, driving rain, some hail. Spyder was solid as a rock. A few gusts tossed both me and cars around a little, but I'd put them at...

    Matching gauge?

Ah good advice thanks. I like the mechanical oil as well, I run metal tubing for mine. I still may chicken out though and go with a clock and volts. I can't see the clock on the little display (or temp or any of the other small icons).

    Matching gauge?

Ah didn't realize it was a both thing. Where are folks tapping oil pressure input from? Mechanical oilpress or electric? Volts is simple of course, oil press a little harder. I tried searching forums and found a lot of references where people had someone do it, but I just do my stuff.
