• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Spyders in the Bayou: Weather/Water Update

Plans are still a go for us. Guess we'll be trying out the new hitch fender sooner than wished. Oh well. Rain gear is ready and so are we.

    JT's Hitch Fender

Just wanted to give a shout out to one of our supporting vendors, JT's Machine Shop. I picked up one of his Hitch Fenders back at the last SpyderFest and finally got around to installing it. I really like how it mounts to the hitch frame and sits tucked in close to the tire. Very indiscreet...

Looking for oil Leak and I found it.

I'm going to add two cents to this water pump seal discussion cause my '03 BMW F650 has a rotax motor and is of similar design with regards to the water pump and seals. Here's the thing, there is a seal on the water pump side and one on the oil side. And yeah, when one goes out, you get the...

    Frunk removal

I have removed my frunk 3 or 4 times and every time never disconnected the battery and had no issue. Now if you turn on the ignition or try to start the bike when the frunk is removed and all those connections apart, that's another story. I did that once, and while it turned out ok in the...

OFFICIAL SPYDERFEST POST -- FROM MOGANG

Any new word on the next hotel? Called the BW and they are booked up on the 27th and 29th. Really don't want to have to shuttle between hotels if at all possible.

    Mexican gasoline

Not on the Spyder It was back in 2006 on a 2004 BMW F650GS when I went into Mexico with a bunch of other riders on the same and similar bikes. We went to places like Casas Grandes, Creel, Hermosillo and such. So really a bunch of nice small little towns. I have to admit we weren't really...

    Damaged Part

Demand restitution, whatever it might be. -redo the install -refund the cost -provide replacement to be install elsewhere whatever. It becomes a matter of getting what is due and not just rolling over and accepting sub-standard. Work your way up the chain at that dealership. Find the manager...

    When to Farkle.....SpyderFest?

I can recall seeing Ultimate Seats, TricLED, and SpyderPops doing installs of items purchased from them at Spyderfest. I also recall there being some pretty long lines of folks waiting to get stuff done, so just a heads up. Though to everyone's credit, looked like they moved through those...

OFFICIAL SPYDERFEST POST -- FROM MOGANG

Yeah, I think I got about 6 time out failures, but kept hitting refresh to get through the screens. Got order #884, but a message said that order number didn't equate to the registration number; so still a mystery I guess. Ah well...registered for two this year; hopefully the wife will be able...

    possible bad bearings?

I'm just say'n that since you have to tear it all down anyway, it's not all that expensive to just go ahead and replace them while you're at it. But then I guess that may only apply if you are the one doing the tear down and not the shop; where you're having to pay their hourly rate. I'm not...

    possible bad bearings?

:agree: +1 And just fyi...it's usually recommended and not a bad idea to go ahead and replace the rear bearings when you put on a new rear tire.
