• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    RT-S Driver Backrest question.

Utopia Seatback I've had 2 very major back surgeries, 2 smaller ones and just got over a shoulder rebuild. If I didn't have the Utopia, I'd be unable to ride more than a hour total a day. But, for $250, a few minutes work and many happy years of Spydering, do it. The Utopia is recessed in the...

    I stink...

Might be time for a canisterectomy. My RT was awful and after doing all the changing of the can and the purge valves twice, they are gone, the hose is routed way back near the rear wheel, my garage no longer smells, the bike no longer drips fuel all over the place and those problems are...

    New - RT dash pouch

Q I've looked at these and determined they will block off all that nice "cooling" air flow, particulartly with the new windshield. Maybe it should be part of the "winterization kit?" The new BRP adjustable lower vents really seem to help in both summer and winter. Tuck

    Accessories

Welcome Yes, per the above. So good to hear from S. America. I travelled just about everywhere for almost 40 years. Spent a lot of time in Brazil and flew helicopters in Sierra Norte in the 60s. Where are you living? The best helicopter mechanic I have ever known lives in Petropolis, he'd be...

    Avoiding a Freak Out

new Spyder Welcome to SL and don't worry, a few little things are bound to pop up on any kind of new vehicle. Keep your dealer in the loop and ask questions. Our Spyders are pretty sophisticated and are bound to create some questions. I have not had the specific things you've experienced. Two...

    Senile or just confused

Spyder Welcome to SpyderLovers. Get on the Spyder, get use to it and do as you darn well please. I'm 75 and would sell my car before I'd sell my Spyder. We've had a lousy week, only a couple hours at a time without rain. I jumped on that bad boy about 3:30 today and rode for 2 hours. It was...

    Water pump oil leak news

When. I first had my 2011RT, the water pump was leaking oil from the water pump within 2 weeks. The dealer determined "yes, it a water pump leak." Parts guy, who is really great, told me they had 5 of the 12 required parts. I looked at him and asked why didn't they replace the pump. Oh, no. It...

    Front wheel wobble.

Ride on with wobblw When I got my RT in Aug 2011, it had a slight wobble at 50 sometimes, most of the time it was ok. One front tire had 4 weights, the other 12 and the rear 10. I left the weights on, added ride on and it never really stopped, but was a little better. Took all the weights off...

Installed a Roland Sands Lever on my ISCI handbrake

ISCI lever I put the above lever on also. With a lot of arthritis, I was unable to get the results I needed from the initial or replacement levers from ISCI. This lever is about 90 percent effective and it sure works for me. I can stop pretty well in practice emer stops in our area. I dare say...

Putting on new tires and jacking it up

I just bought and installed the Diamond R motorcycle jack mod that Alan came up with, Turns most any motorcycle jack into a lift for both front wheels. The mod raises the bike about 13 inches and then you shove some jack stands under there and remove the modified jack and do your work. As I...

    Adjustable handlebar question

There are two adjusting bolts, for fore and aft, showing and a third, for up and down, is sorta under the center of the bars. At Maggie Valley, one of the RTs in the tent had the bars. You could move them fore and aft, but evidently no one knew how to make them go up and down. One of the sales...

Test Results of Heat Elimination Mods

I did the same and there is exhaust pressure in that area which hopefully will keep junk from entering. So far, so good. Also, I have done the exhaust wrap, reflector looking tape on the tank and the canister is gone and the hose routed to the back wheel area. No more gas fumes, stench, etc. I...

    Lifts

M/C lifts Scotty has the 1500# Sears and I have an older version of that and also the 1500# HF one. Four 3,000 # jackstands and a couple big old ramps for cars get used sometimes too. My Sears hyd jack for cars can be used with wood blocks to raise the back near the shock. The manual says not...

Are there any a/mkt vented windshields out there for the RT's?

Yesterday Just bought a 23 inch BRP vented one yesterday. The vent is roughly 1/2 again larger than the Goldwing vent and seems to be an excellant solution. I've used a Goldwing vent on my Harley Road Glide and it was OK and I was going to put it on my RT until I took a good look at the BRP...

What are your favorite spyder mod's or farkles?

Today it's my new RT windshield from BRP. Got a little break on price and jumped at it like it was free. It really seems to be a great improvement. My most favorite addition to the Spyder is the ISCI hand brake system and especially the new adjustable hand lever I got last week. Now I can...

    Monday June 24

HERE's a great ride. For the past 5 years or so, Harley has tried to get as many riders worldwide, of all kinds of bikes, to do as many miles as possible the last Mon of June. This Monday, the Cartersville HOGS are gathering at the dealership at 9 AM and have a 300 mile route planned up through...
