• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Trunk aux plug relocation

For the aux audio (assuming you are talking about the 3.5mm plug and not the iPod adapter...) I ran a male-male extension from the rear under the seat to the glove box area. Drilled a small hole behind the seat back. Cheap and functional.

    Sorry Scotty

Boy, he sure is an annoying little fellow, although the cartoon character isn't too bad.:roflblack::roflblack: :joke: I've been biting my lip for two days now, and I just couldn't help myself. Please forgive me!

what did you get with your RTS Spyder?

Did you get a PE? I thought the iPod and cables came only with the PE. Anyway, I got the same items. I did get a decal to put on my trailer (if I get one) that has my PE number on it so the trailer matches my embroidered seat.

How can you pass a PA roadtest on a spyder

I've lived in Alabama, my daughter's birth cert says she was born in Ozark. They made us move out when her second tooth came in! ;)

    iPhone Call Integration

Yes, that is the method. I have an extra pigtail from the helmet cord to the bike mount. One day, I'll splay out the wires and hook up a pigtail to plug into the phone....if I feel adventurous. Attaching the BRP mic to the EXO 900 wasn't easy, but it is easier if you take the bottom fluff...

    25 MPG

This seems to be out of place in the other statistics. Since you mention km in your distance, was this km/ltr? km/gal (imperial or otherwise)? I'm getting 26.7 mpg using 89 oct 10% ethanol average for 1300 miles.

How can you pass a PA roadtest on a spyder

Simple in my mind (as in simple minded). In PA, after demonstrating mental knowledge and physical knowledge/ability, the statistical need for a helmet is less than a state that only requires mental knowledge. Just about anyone can learn to take a test, it takes a little more to be able to adapt...

    iPhone Call Integration

We have the Scorpion EXO 900 helmets with the BRP headsets. There is a nice dimple for the speakers, fits her nicely (I've yet to find the happy spot that feels good and I can hear clearly). The ear buds for the Plantronics are in the ear canal with 90 deg cord. (see photo). She doesn't have...

    iPhone Call Integration

We have the same set up. My wife uses a BT Plantronics Pulsar 260 (two ear phones and mic). Puts on ear phone in and stuffs the mic into the front of the helmet in the jaw piece. Works well, she has received calls while we are riding and I don't even know it. Once, she was talking a little...

    light cluster on RTS?

Having worked on a multitude of vehicles, I've often thought that the engineers must sit in a room with no windows and one 75w bulb on the ceiling using a string to turn it on as their design center. Here, they giggle incessantly as they work.

Radio antennae bulletin + 3 other situations

I like this part..... Verify if the M6 stainless steel lock washer has been installed at PDI and add LOCTITE 243 (BLUE) (P/N 293 800 060). Anybody have a lock washer on their antenna? Sure didn't see one on either of mine.

    Blessing Hotel

I suspect my wife is working that weekend, so may not be able to go. But it will STILL be hot on the 21st. I'm thinking mid Sep to really think about venturing out.

    Useable downforce

Looking at a F1 car, the entire thing is streamlined to produce the least amount of wind drag and puts the wings (front and rear don't forget) in the best possible location for down force. Plus they don't do much at all at low speeds, regardless of design. You have to have airflow to create...

    Spyder Patch Update 8/3/10

Looks great for a design modified by consensus. :chat: Seems that anyone who wants a 3 piece patch can get out the scissors! We'll be up for a couple of Black RT's.

    Manual vs Semi- Auto

After years of driving a stick shift car and enjoying it, I got an automatic and never looked back (but sometimes would like to jam a few gears). We tried both the RT's and we agreed the auto would make life more enjoyable. Personal choice. I don't think I'd like an auto on a two wheeler.

    XM Radio

Not exactly, they are both owned by the same company (merged) but use different satellites. Your XM radio won't pick up Sirius and vice versa which is why XM has a "best of Sirius" package they offer. I'm not sure if the package prices are comparable or not. But you can't just switch between...

    Spyder sighting clear lake area

Wasn't me either. I was thinking about it, but decided to stay around the house and ... well, did a little fishing and tinkering. And troubleshooting my radio problem. Had a heat index of 112 at Bayou Vista today. :chill:

lost the audio to the back seat

Well, yesterday while we were riding, there was a popping sound in the earphones and my wife's mic went dead. I pulled over and found a short in the passenger pigtail. I swapped out with my pigtail and all was OK except my wife could not hear the radio. She could hear and talk on the ICOM...
