• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Tall Windshield hurt mileage

Thank you all for input. Cross country on a Sportster! And 1-2-5 on spyder, wow. Yes I know there are stations available, but it bugs me to to start a trip only to have to fill up after only 87 miles so as to make the next gas stop. And hadn’t thought about the fill-after-the-click syndrome—now...

    Tall Windshield hurt mileage

Sure. I guess my bladder must be industrial strength. I also rented a 2006 beemer RT and it made 292 miles on the first tank it used! And yes my beemer would usually only go 180. But my rental spyder rt got 28 mpg (just under 200 miles) so didn’t want to drop it as it seems common that my...

    Tall Windshield hurt mileage

Hi All! Did a search and didn’t find mention of this. I used to have a Beemer and some of the RT guys (as in r1200rt) mentioned that with the shield in the up or near full-up position the gas mileage took up to 2 to 3 mile/gallon hit. This is not so much an economic thing as it’s a range issue...

    Akropovic mufflers?

The main complaint with the Chinese Akro is an hour later you can’t remember what it sounded like.

New Years Day Ride every year for over 50 years

When I had my boxer cup replica used to ride the annual Canyon Lake road every New Years morning. But dang, after summers of 118+ that mid to high 30s about ruined me. And all the over-hormoned squids, etc. Since my recent move to other side of town...well long way around the bush to say I’m...

    Perfect Day

Yes indeed! High hit like 66 (f). Only thing to make it more perfect would be if I knew when my new RTL was going to show up.

    Nomenclature 2020 RTs

Oh, didn’t know about those other iterations for the 2013 and 2018-19s. Well if I go with a personal plate it probably will end up as something real introspective like, SPYDER1 (as in my first!).

    Night riding glasses

Iride, I wear a pair of yellow safety glasses that are wonderfully light (as in tint) for day and night use—they also happen to be available with readers if one needs that. Try Readers.com. And they are very affordable (read cheap :). Any recommendations for service/dealer in Phoenix?

    2020 Spyder Orders

Giant, The main incentive, if not trading, appears to be an extra (1) year warranty which I discreetly as possible had to remind the dealer, plus the aforementioned pleasures of use during riding season. I had a couple trades to rid myself of and was able to get what I hoped for them, so that...

    Nomenclature 2020 RTs

Hi All, Was sitting at a light behind a ‘vette with a personal plate: “C6 2005.” Sooo, does that make the new RT/RT Ltd an S3, or Gen 3, New Gen...Gen Current, Latest One, or just New one? Or stop daydreaming about my new rt and pay attention to the road? 🤗

if the 2020 rt limited doesn't get here soon

3wheel, Enjoyed the vids! Especially liked the one from my own “backyard” in Tucson! Didn’t know they made changes to the front suspension. Thanx!

All responders thank you. Have not been here long but I feel the level of expertise is light years ahead of my local dealership “brain trust.” And thanks for the offer to help Mike.

Ordered RT Ltd - Awaiting arrival date

Say thanx for Owner manual! And yes the Xtra warranty I had to “remind” them of that: said I wasn’t asking for it, Can Am was offering it; then their memory got clearer. And yes for a down payment, or deposit in their parlance. If I was as smart as several members of this forum I would have...

    We need another Tire thread

Hey Thanks! Yes it was a RideNow dealer, and further troubling it was a service writer that told me. Perhaps to their credit they will mount any car tire I furnish. Not sure but a tire search seems to indicate no balancing is required if you match the “dot” to the valve stem? Thanks again. And...

    We need another Tire thread

Hi All! New spyder owner-to-be. Comment/Question: first dealer visited told me car tires have softer sidewalls which have a greater “roll under” than the stock tire which thereby makes the “electronic nannies” come on sooner (computer senses change in tire dimension thereby applying brakes)...

    Battery charging

Another vote for Battery Tender Jr. They work well enough that Harley supplied one with the Ultra I bought 14 years ago (tomorrow in fact). Plan on using it on Spyder when it shows up!

Ordered RT Ltd - Awaiting arrival date

Well, I called the customer service “on road expert” at Can Am. He says you can have the dealer submit an “ETA Request Form,” which is supposed to answer any delivery questions. So I asked my friendly salesman to have the boss do so...to see if a date appears in 2 days. Dealer also said delivery...
