• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Got New RT...mystery solved

Arian, Yes load tested per “Can Am smart tester.” Loose ground wire sounds like good suggestion!

    Got New RT...mystery solved

BTW, yes the kill switch when depressed, would eliminate the “click.” And yes it was correct run position.

    Got New RT...mystery solved

Billybovine, Not much to tell. Stop engine, fill tank, do restart procedure which after albeit only 3 days was fairly set. Yes brake was on, yes to mode button, yes to neutral (since was in N when turned key off). Sooo...tank full and nothing except a faint click. It took a while for me to hear...

    Got New RT...mystery solved

Lew, I removed the battery cover and both terminals were tight. If memory serves, the battery was black with white print, possibly Yuasa. What was peculiar was the battery hold down clamp (with the rubber strap) was loose and the clamp sort of hanging half-way off. Didn’t seem too much of issue...

    Got New RT...mystery solved

Dudley, Ha that’s what I’d hoped for. Service writer used Can Am “smart charger” and battery checked good. Of course, Ride Now may still be my problem.

    Got New RT...mystery solved

Yes will post as “plot thickens.” And yes have ridden, competed, and commuted for years. First thing tow driver asked was if kill switch was “killed” (it wasn’t as there’s no particular need for it in the 3 days RT’s been used). Also positive is wife quite enjoyed ride; she’ll probably enjoy it...

    Got New RT...mystery solved

Flame winger, Thanks-the dealer put the battery through Can Am’s battery test and it checked good. Was hoping for something simple, but not this time. Bummer...

    Got New RT...mystery solved

Got new RT but ... Hi All! Took delivery finally last Friday of my ‘20 RT Limited. Woohoo! Take wife on ride Sunday to Canyon Lake, stop for gas, and...she no starts. WTF? Battery seemed ok. Called AAA for a jump (they don’t cover motorcycles unless have Premier coverage BTW). So $425 later...

    Went back to Harley’s

Formerhd, In the journey to get to a Spyder, I wound up with both a Ultra Classic and a Gold Wing in my garage. After comparing both, I’ve been disappointed in the wind protection on the GW. My wife noticed it too as she never had complaints of wind hitting her when on HD. So if I return/replace...

    Negotiating Price on 2020 RTL

Giantjas, I too have ordered a ‘20 RT Limited. My deal had a couple of trades, but the quoted setup (about $835) and shipping ($1135) seemed high, so I offered him less and he accepted. Now, if I only knew when it would show up!

Thanks for reply. I’ll see what my RTL does when it shows up and if taller screen is needed.

We Need an Oil Additive Thread

Thank you all! I believe I shall refrain from additives. But isn’t the Petron engine-running-less-oilpan is kind of impressive?

We Need an Oil Additive Thread

So time for my dumb question: the spyder 1330 triple is a wet clutch?

We Need an Oil Additive Thread

Fellow Spiderites! So the video from Petron Plus shows it as the only additive able to prevent the bearing, used by peddler with a beam-type torque wrench, from stalling out the electric drive motor. So isn’t that proof it should make a 1330 Rotax motor last mochos longer, etc? Anyone use this?

    Tall Windshield hurt mileage

Shyeah! Good to hear 87 works-I thought it would be ping city. Phoenix gets the treat of ethanol added to summer gas, which is tough on high compression H-Ds. And good point on just watching odo only! Yes touring is an adventure, some methods more so than others!

    Tall Windshield hurt mileage

IdahoSpydr, Thanx for windshield input. And agree with early gas stops. But the one glaring exception was when I went to Albequerque. I had to stop in the town of Payson (87 miles) in order to make my next stop (Gallup). Bugged me ‘cause couldn’t make Holbrook which was tick over 200 miles. Oh...

    Touring Comfort Inquiry

Japgen/Rickz, my salesman showed me the “add on” catalog and there is a short- and long-reach handlebar. Apparently they are available for sale, but no mention of a no charge swap. But this is my guy, who frankly was not quite at the top of his game.

    Touring Comfort Inquiry

Japgen, We common motives. I just “acquired” a ‘12 Goldwing. I rented one and rode 14 hours on longest leg with no ill effects. However that was solo, about 7 years ago. Fast forward to last month on a ride with my wife and oops, I capsized it at a stop sign. Bike ok, wife fractured/cracked a...
