• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    OYSTER RUN

Well, we dealt with one variable this evening - since the weather was so nice, we went out and rode after dark to get some practice at that. Radgirl's coming around to my way of thinking, but we'll see by tomorrow how successful I am in my efforts at getting her on board with the adventure... ;)

Thanks, Brad! Let me check with Radgirl and get her thoughts. I'll let you know.

    OYSTER RUN

I'd say it's likely Radgirl and I may have to pass. I've not driven in the rain yet, nor in the dark, nor in a large group. We're thinking that's one too many first-time-variables for a 70 mph jaunt up the freeway... We'd really like to go, since we want to meet all the Puget Sound area Spyder...

First Big Trip Completed - Two Days Around the Olympic Peninsula

We should be there, barring any unforeseen circumstances!

First Big Trip Completed - Two Days Around the Olympic Peninsula

What a blast! While a 'short' trip by the measure of some of those more experienced folks out there, this was our longest open-road experience so far since acquiring "Sharky," our RT-S, in July. We left Monday from our house, about 13 miles northeast of Seattle; drove through Tacoma; across the...

    Got a code today P1614 P000

My throttle body replacement was the first my dealer had done, out of all the bikes they've sold. So even though it sometimes seems (from reading the forum here) that it's a pervasive problem, it would seem to just be a percentage. We be the lucky ones, lol! :D

Russell Day Long seats group buy

Also interested in Doug's views, vis-a-vis Corbin versus Russell (or any other members who have knowledge of both). I was originally considering the Corbin for the passenger armrests, but Radgirl is re-thinking that option. The only other concern I have with the Corbin is the seat firmness...

    Spyder will not move!

Maybe we're in the wrong line of work, lol! :D

If you're considering speeding on your Spyder...

Yeah, 'cause he wants a closer look at that monster bike... :D

If you're considering speeding on your Spyder...

Perhaps you might want to reconsider... :D Just a little something for all my Spyder friends here... ;)

    Spyder will not move!

Wouldn't disagree with you at all on what is likely the actual labor involved. However, their receipt for the warrenty work did show a six-hour labor charge, so I presume BRP must be okay with that. Or there's some sort of "adjustment" that goes on behind the scenes between dealer and BRP. Maybe...

    Error Codes have showed up!

Just a follow-up on my throttle body issue that I mentioned in this thread (since often we hear of the problem but not necessarily the end result...). I did take Lamont and Scotty's advice and continued to ride the bike while waiting for the throttle body to arrive, which took about a week...

Yep! See my post today on this thread for more on this same subject: http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showthread.php?32397-Spyder-will-not-move!

    Spyder will not move!

There does appear to be a somewhat pervasive problem (meaning, more than random bad part) involved with this issue, namely the clutch solenoid. I went today to pick up my 2011 RT-S for the throttle body replacement (ran fine on the 10 mile ride home, we'll see how he starts in the morning...

I can return the favor, at least partially. When the dealer installed the CB Comm system, they should have given you pages 11 - 16 of the installation instructions. These have more detailed descriptions of the various settings. On page 15 is the following: 4. Headset Mode 4.1 Off: When you do...

The Five Ryder Gang rode today

That's five Ryders and two Spyders. Radgirl and I teamed up with draboo (Brad) and his wife Pat, and their sidekick Kiddo, for a two-Spyder cruise up Chuckanut Drive in northwestern Washington state. It was a gorgeous day for a ryde, as we headed across the farmland and then up through the...

Thank you! Yes, we're using the 3/4 helmets too, and the VOX is basically keeping the circuit open most of the time while riding. But the real problem for us seems to be that the passenger connection's mike is working fine, but not the rider's connection in front. We've swapped helmets, and...

    The Utopia backrest

Good info, Phil, thanks. Now, tell us also about your strap-on cushions you have there. Do they work well, and if so, where available? Thx!
