• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

It started out as such a nice day for a ride in Minnesota

    It went downhill pretty fast

    External Battery Jump Port

And yet when my drive sprocket failed, no amount of tools made up for the fact I was 100 miles and two-ten days away from getting the parts.

    Dropping a trailer?

In addition to the other locks, I bring along a long cable and run it through the tires and run it around whatever is available to just add the extra bit of security. Riding two up, I would have a hard time traveling without all of the stuff I bring along in the trailer.....

    hastings tire shop

Check Midnight Motorcycle. They are based in Hastings and have done good work for me. Based on Honda Goldwing, but it will be interesting to see if they are expanding into other makes. I know they handle a line of MC tires. http://www.midnightmotorcycle.com/

Bad Day For Big Red (Update 1)

I often wonder why so many put vibration dampers, as I never felt any vibration at all and did not really see the need for one. If this is truly what caused the problem an over tighten belt then explains why I did not have any vibration. I have a 2015 RT with 30k miles., I added a vibration...

Does it really take 300 miles?

Took me closer to 3000 miles before I figured out to go right turn the bars right and to go left turn the bars left. The longer you rode two wheeler, the longer the transition is my cry. I really wish my RT had a brake lever on the handlebar.... I am selling my two wheelers...

Anyone in washington state that would let me ride a can am spyder

My local dealer let me test drive two different models . I did not buy from them as the new ones were beyond my budget, but I am in the CanAm family now and have that dealer do my servicing.

    Spyderfest '18

Your registration pays for the "Venue." It takes time and resources to put an event together. Prom lining up hotels, space for vendors and getting vendors to commit, it takes time and money. Add to that getting some entertainment and a gathering place for you and people you would like to meet...

27mph winds. Gusts to 41mph. Would you ride?

Big difference if it is a head/tail wind vs 90-degree crosswind. I was riding two up and found we were, in essence, a huge "sail." With a 40+ mph crosswind that was a surprise after clearing a "protected from the wind" area, I was in the oncoming lane before I figured out my predicament. I...

    rust on front pulley

Several RT owners have lost their front sprocket also, ME included. they are $104 ea., which is much cheaper than the tow I paid for and the challenges of being broken down on a Sunday 100 miles from home........

    1330 Performance Upgrades

I wouldn't mind a bit more power. I ride two up with a trailer and it struggles with headwinds and hills.

    Learning "The Touch"

I haven't learned "The Touch" yet, but after 3000 miles on my Spyder, I finally learned that to go right steer right, and to go left steer left. Having spent 50 years of enjoying two-wheeled motorcycling, I had a lot to unlearn....

    F3 Front Sprocket Inspection

On a side note.....My experience. 2015 RTL 2 up with a trailer, 30K miles on the machine. Prior to my purchase pretty consistent belt vibration 63-74 MPH. I installed the BRP damper shortly after purchase. We rode all day with no issues or warning. Pulled into the motel parking lot when it...

Filling gas to the rim or?

If I am going a distance after fillup, I go to the brim, you never know where the next stop will be. If I am headed to the barn, I never go to the brim. When the bike is stored, temps vary, especially when brought in hot. you should always leave room for temperature expansion.
