• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Heat in glove box

Thanks for all the reply’s. It seems as if the glove box heat issue, 2019 F3L, can be a concern. I suppose I could leave the glove box lid open a bit to keep the heat down or I could just mount the phone on the bars with the connection cable dangling out over the dash to the phone or just put...

    Heat in glove box

Are there any heat related concerns about keeping a phone in the “glove box” during the summer? On the F3L, 2019, the glove box is where the phone is stored and connected in order to used BRP connect. I’m not sure how much heat build-up occurs in the glove box and/or how how much heat a smart...

    Genius Maps

Thanks everyone for your helpful comments. I have been using a Garmin for the past seven years and because the gps was part of my previous bike dash/instrument configuration it went with the bike when I traded for the Spyder. So now my decision is to either purchase a separate gps or to make...

    Genius Maps

Please allow me to take this discussion one step further. The reason you can use genius maps anywhere, even without cell service, is because it uses the phones internal tracking capability which is completely different from cell service? I’ve never checked but if this is true then the built-in...

What tools would you put in a Medium sized Tool Roll?

Tool kit When I traded in my VSTAR for my 2019 F3Limited I transferred items from the Star to my Spyder. TodayI found in one of my transferred bags a spanner wrench (used to adjust the rear shock, which I never did) and I’m pretty sure it belonged to the VSTAR. But to be sure, I wanted to...

In addition to being able to use Genius maps on your Spyder when you download it to your phone, can you also use your phone and Genius Maps as a gps when not on your Spyder, I.e. in your car, etc. Poasttown

    Maintenance manual

So what I’m hearing is that BRP does not sell service manuals, in any format. If you want a manual you have to purchase one from a non-BRP vendor. Correct? Did I read somewhere that the manuals were available on this site? And if so, where are they located? Thanks Poasttown

    Maintenance manual

Are all the manuals the same but just being sold by different companies? When I go to the various sites and look at the manual for the 2019 F3s it looks as if I’m buying the same thing except from a different company. Poasttown

Anyone using Rain/storage covers? Which covers?

Thanks for all the comments. The members relaying their experience is most appreciated. My two wheeled covers just didn’t work for my F3L. I also had a gift certificate I wanted to use so I went with a half cover. Poasttown

Anyone using Rain/storage covers? Which covers?

Looking for some general thoughts concerning the use of rain covers for the Can-Am. When I was on two wheels I stopped carrying a cover because of the space they required plus I often could pull up under the hotel covered porches or registration carports for the night. However, now that I have...

    Navigation

Lifelong rider Thanks for your reply. Sounds just about how I use my nav. equipment. A quick follow-up question. When you said you downloaded Sygic to your phone, did you then sink it to your Spyder and use the joystick and dash display or just work from your phone. Thanks Poasttown

    Navigation

I almost hate to begin this discussion concerning the Spyder BRP Connect nav. options because it seems to have been covered extensively. However, here goes. I will try to narrow down my question as much as possible. I would like to use the options on my bike (2019 F3 L) which seems to be...

Which spec and year to buy

R4ambler Just switched over to three wheels this past year (August) from a Yamaha VSTAR to an F3L. Concerning the passenger topic, the ability for my wife to have forward visibility was a deal breaker for us. She wants to see over my helmet and not be limited to just left and right visibility...

Need Help With Outdoor RT Covers..

I’m not sure of your specific circumstances and zoning issues but a small storage shed would serve this purpose as well. The cost would obviously be more but could also serve other needs as well. One of the big box lumber stores has a small composite shed with a sliding roof (Not sure large...

    Tire gauge and pressure

I continue to read the importance of the correct pressure in tires. However, how do you get an accurate pressure reading? I have a half dozen traditional stick gauges (very inexpensive) and their readings are not very consistent as you would expect. I have a dial gauge, a digital gauge, and...

1330cc Spyder leaked all the oil out TWICE

Just throwing this out as “food for thought” and an event I experienced. I had an oil leak in a VSTAR a number of years ago and I traced it back to a broken graphite like gasket between the exhaust and engine head. I’m not sure how the Spyder is set up and if this is even possible in your...

Need advice/info on Installing battery tender harness?

I have a follow-up question to the installation of a battery tender for Winter storage. Is there a reason to place a surge suppressor in the line between the tender and the electrical grid? My question isn’t as much about the battery but the damage to the bikes electrical system. I’m not sure...
