• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Some new parts out

LOL, I'm grumpy because it's Jan 15th and I'm self employed so I had to write checks to Uncle Sam and to Aaahhnold for quarterly tax estimates... GRRRRR. Other than that, it's a great day here... I might just go for a ride!

    Seems so hard

IMO, One can't be overly anxious over things one can't control. Acts of nature can be ugly... plan for them to minimize their affect on you; help, if possible, when others are affected; but live life for today!

    Some new parts out

Always excited to see some new parts, whether they titillate me or not!

    trunk liner

Don't you know it! First time I tried to re-install it (was on when I bought the bike, and I took it apart to install the comfort seat), I was cranking on the center bolt... more and more... till I realized that I was trying to punch it through the release cable. About an hour later, after a...

    RPM Profile Increase

This shows the relative amount of time spent at these RPM's over the life of your Spyder? Where is this information available - from BUDS at the dealer? LOL, with this much info stored, you'd think they woulda been able to add 1 digit to the odometer...

    Birthday Came and Went

FYI, Smylinacha, mine is the day AFTER St. Patty's day... at least I always know when it is, hung over or not!

Must eat a lot of quesadillas!

    Birthday Came and Went

I've always felt that birthdays are just an artificial measurement anyway... every day you make it through should be celebrated, why wait for every 365th day? SO... HAPPY 21,917 BeachBum! (assuming I got the right number of leap years) Of course, every second is precious... so Happy...

    Nope, not here either.

How fast have you driven you Spyder and under what conditions?

107 two up and 118 single - both times, long straight multi-lane roads with no traffic in either direction. Felt like there was lots left, but that was enough for me... and the one time each was enough too. Been there, done that - now I'll take it just a bit easier.

    BRP - Ranking

The most reliable three wheeled, high powered motorcycle with 2 front, 1 rear wheel configuration? BRP, IMO. The most reliable 2 wheeled, high powered motorcycle? Honda, IMO. The comparison, however, is apples to oranges, also IMO.

Spyder - Comfortable as your only vehicle?

Although, if necessary, the Spyder could meet my minimum needs as sole transportation, it certainly doesn't meet all of my typical needs or occasional wants. I have an SUV for carrying stuff and a Jaguar XJ8 (no snickers... it's a 2000 and I got it cheap) for comfort and four wheel fun in the...

    The Spyder Computer?!

As an engineer who likes to have all the tools available, it would certainly be great to have BUDS, but I have to agree with Scotty... just having the software doesn't do a whole lot. BUT if it were cheap (and legal), I'd still get it - just to have it.

    Creep? SE5

Mine does it randomly and occasionally. I've always assumed it's due to using a more complex than standard centrifugal clutch in order to maintain engine braking when the throttle is released. The experience is really no different than that seen when driving a car with automatic transmission, so...

USER NAMES/HANDLES - What does yours mean? Where did it come from?

As per my sig, I have a few quads... and started using the name on a Yamaha Raptor 660 forum - kept it here to keep my confusion factor low.

How old (young) are the Spyder riders?

    1) You're only as old as you feel... and I feel 20 something - until I look in the mirror 2) if you can't figure whether to check, for example, 20-30 or 30-40, then I suggest 20-30... it will make you feel younger 3) Dan, if you think WE'RE old - my 85 y/o dad regularly rides quads in the desert...

LOL, I'm with ya... I'm freezing here and it's 56 right now. We are wimps! But, we are spoiled too.
