• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2014 RTL 3rd brake light question

Checkout your locking system first I suggest that you throughly check the locking system before you add any electricals. The DESS system shuts down starting when you lock the bars. If you get a DESS key or DESS fail warning it needs attention first. I did not lock the bars until later and...

    Another DSS FAIL thread

I added another thread because of what I found out yesterday at the dealership about the DESS FAIL warning I have been getting on the 2014 RT ever since I first locked the bars on the bike two weeks ago. No issues with electrical prior. The bike went in for the 3000 mile check yesterday. The...

Proper Oil Level Verification Procedure on 1330-engined Spyders

The service department does not know of this change Steve, Your posts have always been welcome. I recently changed the oil and filter on my ride with the BRP kit and added the 5 US qts that you recommended. I do this so I will know my machine and because I enjoy the experience and like...

ok gun owners, another WHAT DO YOU THINK question

What is 'reasonable' Please, do not be fooled by "reasonable" sounding talking points put out by the anti this and that. 'It is just about back ground checks' they said. Very dishonest talking points. Hiding the truth seems to be the anti's way. If it is not guns than it is our ammunition...

    DSS WARNING

I am having that problem now myself with 2014 RT. Dealer service writer said they replaced the switch prior to delivery. I just turned 3000 miles and scheduled for that service this week. It started after I had locked the bars once last week. Now intermittent DESS KEY error. Move the bars...

Think You're Good With a Bow & Arrow

Outstanding. As a sucessfull archery hunter who praticed many hours before the trip, I know this had to have taken hours and hours a day practice over many years. Now that takes commitment. I'll just have to be satisfied with the succesful archery hunt. A Hoyt compound at 67 lb draw and 100...

    Trailer Options

Thanks for the link KYSPYDER. Those are very unique. You, BLUEKNIGHT911 and Oldmanzues have great ideas for tying down but no one has commented about experience with framing and covering a flat bed trailer. I guess that is a Canadian or Aussi technique.

    installing hitch

Forgot to mention that I had read an earlier post from someone who mentioned that the mudflap was rubbing when going over speed bumps because it sits so low. He had to cut off an inch and it was a PITA because the hitch was already attached. Before installing the mudflap I cut off 1 inch of the...

    installing hitch

I installed one last week on the wifes RTL without seeing a video before hand. The hardest part was installing the wiring. The back top and bottom panels need to come off. There is a hidden screw that is a smaller size head behide the left and right storage boxs at the bottom panel. It is...

    Trailer Options

Mike, I have seen several posts of yours about the tiedowns you use, but never a picture. How about some pictures or a link? You have my attention. Having a cover is more about, out of sight, out of mind sort of thing in this day an age of people stealing anything not locked down. Had a 6 ft...

    Trailer Options

I now have two spyders so I need to replace the Aluma that hauled the two motorcycles. What with the cost of trailers these days, I could just add the EasyClamps to an 18 foot car hauler I have and be on my way. I was in town a couple weeks ago and I saw a flat bed trailer with a tarp covering...
