• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

can a non mechanic like me put a back rest on

The install seems pretty straight forward, but to me it was worth the hour labor charge to have my tech do the grunt work.

    Strapping Down For Trailering

Thanks to all! As usual, when in doubt, read the instructions. Any thoughts on whether to use front wheel chocks or not, and if so, what size?

    Strapping Down For Trailering

I just ordered a custom built 6x11' open trailer for transporting spyder. It will have a drop down axle, 3 foot dove tail, and a 4 foot gate/ramp. Two questions: What size wheel chocks for front wheels (I'm thinking 7 inch)? What is the best way to strap the spyder down when loaded...

    se5 in the shop again

Please let us know what the eventual 'fix' is. Maybe the rest of us with shifting problems can be enlightened.

    For those who have SE-5 doubts . . . .

Got spring installed today... alas, not much difference... guess BRP was correct in that my '09 SE5 has the new parts already. Now, if they can only find out what is causing my 'surge at stop' and overheating problems, I will be a happy camper.

    Thrown off the Spyder

:agree: Have also raised a wheel with no trouble holding on. Also, can't see spyder flipping over.

    Considering the unthinkable...A Windshield

After traveling on the interstate the other day in the rain, I also can see the need for a somewhat larger windshield. Any 6'3"ers out there who are happy with their 'touring' windshields?

    AARP

:agree::agree::agree: If not for their overwhelming support for anything 'liberal', I might have considered joining their ranks. As it is, I'll just have to pay State Farm prices.

Looks great... only thing I would do in addition is paint sportrack/backrest to match.

BRP refuses to pay dealer for warranty repair

Am not sure either, but it seems that an auto-clutch disengages first gear and prevents the spyder from pulling forward. Sometimes however, especially in slow traffic, first gear remains engaged. Just today, I was shifting in neutral at each stop to prevent spyder from overheating. While...

    Technical Service Bulletin

Basically, according to my service manager, the service bulletin pertaining to '08 SE5 mentions replacing the 'gear position sensor' and 'oil pressure spring' in addition to a BUDS update. The SB pertaining to the '09 SE5 only mentions the BUDS update, as supposedly, the new parts have...

    Technical Service Bulletin

Had the update thing done last week. Main thing I noticed was a distinctive 'throttle blip' when downshifting. Unfortunately, it did not solve my spyder's problems. :banghead:
