• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    OK, There I said it!

Am sitting in the dealer parking lot looking at a Seadoo 150 Speedster claiming a rotax turbo putting out 215 horses. I want that motor customized to fit my spyder. But, a 6th forward gear would be nice also to take advantage of the extra power.

    Throttle Stuck

Well, I have another thing for the tech to check out on my spyder. Once today in traffic I had applied throttle, then quickly released it, but it continued as if I still had it open. I pushed up on the throttle to make sure it had released; it was where it should be, but the gas was still...

5th official, 8th unofficial Limp Mode today

That's just messed up. Yesterday, when I scheduled my 3000 mile service, I mentioned that my machine has been shifting much better, but that it had stuck in neutral a couple of times. I told him about the 'wiring' fix that I had read about in this forum. He had the gall to tell me that I...

    SE5 - I just caught up :(

If your gear position sensor has not been replaced, that is the first place that I would look. My SE5 was sticking in one gear or another about every 100 miles or so. After the GPS replacement, it has only stuck in neutral twice in the last 1200 miles.

    Stupid Question

Not to rain on anybody's parade, but according to your math, only 650 spyders have been sold: 130,000,000/200,000=650 Even so, if BRP did indeed spend 130 mil on R&D, it will take many years for them to recoup that investment.

How do you know? (Somebody had to do it) :D

    New Here: Hi to all

:congrats: and welcome The exhaust is a must IMHO. The Hindle is a nice compromise between a more throaty sound without bothering the neighbors too much. I think it also fits in with the overall Spyder theme. A backrest will also be a necessity for any passengers. The BRP backrest/sportrack...

Where did you find out about the Spyder?

A couple of years ago while somewhat bored on an airline, I started thumbing through one of the flight magazines in the seat pouch. Lo and behold, there was one of the sexiest machines I had ever seen.

    Disappointed SE5 08

Have patience; my early model '09 SE5 had shifting and overheating problems also. But, after replacement of the 'gear position sensor' and 'oil pressure spring', and BUDS update, everything is MUCH better. For the last thousand miles or so, it has stuck in neutral only twice. I just make a...

What is the Coolest thing you like about your Spyder?

Just looking at it gets the adrenaline flowing.

    Spyder Fairing

I think their products are innovative and functional. Although I prefer to keep the 'sporty' look of my spyder, those wishing to convert theirs for touring might consider some of these mods. I also think the chrome has been tastefully done for the most part.

    Freaky

I have had this happen twice, but in retrospect, I probably inadvertently thumbed the + trigger.

    stock pipe

Mine was popping when I first got it, and it has progressively worsened. The dealer's tech put sealer around the hindle pipe, but that did not fix it. Will have the header/collector gaskets checked out during the 3000 mile service (almost there already). My question is could this make the...

    Creeping

And one for good measure... hip hip hooray... I'm a senior member... what discounts do I qualify for?

    Creeping

Mine was fixed with the gear position sensor replacement. Occasionally, it still wants to creep ever so slightly, but the throttle blip takes care of it instantly.

    Smart fortwo

I have a Honda Fit, and am almost as vigilant looking out for the other drivers as I am with my spyder. It's a GREAT little car with tons of room and gets 30-35 miles per gallon. My wife prefers to drive the Toyota Tundra which gets 15-17 mpg, as the 'little car' syndrome scares her. There is...
