• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Guess I will have to shop for new insurance

Dragonfly - I have Rider also and they policy and rates are GREAT !!! Far better than anywhere else I looked and less then half of what I was paying to have the Spyder on my main "multi-vehicle" policy. And, the fact that they cover "full value" plus farkles is unheard of anywhere else.

Looking at This Trunk Rack - Anyone Have It?

I have the Diamond R luggage rack. I really didn't want one at all, but the wife insisted she needed one for her "stuff". I conceded to her wishes but told her the only acceptable one was the Diamond R in chrome. So, she bought it for me, I mean herself. :dontknow:

    battery tender

As mentioned in the linked article, the Harbor Freight float charger is marked not to be used on Gel batteries. I have a good name brand charger from Motorcycle Superstore I keep on the Spyder. But I do have a number of the $7 Harbor freight chargers I use on my equipment with lead acid...

    battery tender

On my RT I just plug the tender into the 12 volt DC connector in the trunk. It's on all the time and keeps the battery charged. No panels to remove.

DR Buck's 2012 RT Limited Mods

Keeps the cable from popping of the motor pulley. There were several different ideas guys came up with. The most common was drill a hole through the pulley and add a tie-wrap.

    Adding Farcles

I don't normally point our spelling errors, but something as important as this, needs to be correct. :dontknow: It's spelled with a 'K', not a 'C'. :roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:

    handlebar swap

Anybody put 'ape hangers" on an RT? :roflblack: That woud sure test cable length issues. Not that I would really put on ape hangers, but I would be interested in how regular bike handlebars are connected to the top of the Spyder Steering mechanism, especially on an RT. Some sort of...

Any Ham Radio Operators Own Spyders?

de K3SK............ I have a Yaesu FTM-10R with a dual band halfwave antenna perminately installed on my RT. I use bluetooth from helmet to radio. The radio has built in bluetooth, but I use the SENA SR10 so I can have full duplex bluetooth and use PTT instead of VOX.

    Amateur Radio

Joke or not, QRM is caused by other signals on the band, not power poles or transformers. The most common noise you would get from a power pole or transformer is QRN. Back to your antenna question: I'd wonder why as a general Class license holder you would ask such a question? Knowledge...

    Tire has gone missing

New tire arrived today. Now to get it installed. I'll need to check the service manual to see how hard it's going to be to remove and replace the rear wheel from the Spyder.

    Tire has gone missing

I have the Altimax on the front. ~6k miles and they are great. Handle very well and show no signs of wear. I run them at 22 psi.
