• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

F3 Valve stems too short for TPMS! Help!!

Checking tires prior to a ride is a smart idea, but doesn't help much when you pick up a nail in the middle of a long ride. I've been riding over 50 years now and there's been plenty of times I've felt my bike squirm a bit and then I wondered if it was a tire going down. My wife and I have both...

How many "Bar marks" are on your heat gauge when warm?

FYI: Coolant level is easy to read if you remove the top, right side tupperware. It's just 4 Torx and 3 push pins. (takes about 2 mins)

    Leak at oil filter cap

Thanks for the response. I’m using the new O-ring from Lamonster’s kit. It looks like the old one. ( remember, the old one leaked after the oil change) I carefully measure the oil I drain and match it for the refill. I also did a proper check after the refill.I lubed O-ring with engine oil. I...

    Leak at oil filter cap

Just did a seasonal oil change on my wife's F3 as I've done several other times. Initially, I didn't use a new O-ring for the cap and it leaked. So, I removed the cap and installed a new O-ring. Still leaks. I've tried tightening the cap very firmly and tried not tightening it so much. It's not...

I do believe this is the longest sentence in forum history!

Time for an oil & filter change - how best to raise my Spyder?

Same here. Oil change was very easy with F3 on the ground. No issues at all.

    Laam Seats

Wife's seat arrived this AM. Raining here so all she did was sit on it in the garage. First impression: More supportive, narrower in front, sits in seat rather than on seat and pushes her just a little bit closer to controls. Those were all attributes we discussed with Seth, so that's all...

    Using ramps for oil changes

Easy as can be without raising F3 at all. You just need to use a shallow pan to drain oil into.

    Laam Seats

I’ve had a couple of long discussions with Seth to make sure the seat is modified to our goals. Last night he told me the seat would be shipped out by the end of today. Very pleasant and knowledgeable guy over the phone.

    Laam Seats

Sent my wife’s seat to Seth 2 days ago. Production date is 2/25. (earlier if he has time) Hopefully, this mod will increase the length of our rides, or, at least, make our shorter rides more pleasant for her. Doing black with red stitching which should look nice on her pearl white F3.

    Torx

I'm thinking about replacing all the Phillips with Torx. The Torx give a much more positive connection to the tool.

    F3L fuel info

FYI: Chieftain and F3 weights are very close, depending on F3 model. For an "average" husband/wife, your additional bodyweight will make the 2 vehicles almost the same weight with driver.

    F3L fuel info

I ride an Indian Vintage (same engine as Chieftain, no windshield) and my wife has an F3. We only cruise rural roads and generally run 50-60 mph. I average (actually calculated) about 50 mpg and she averages about 40 mpg. We always gas up when I need gas and she takes on more gas as she gets 80%...

Does the F3 have more power in Sport Mode?

In the automotive world, sport/standard/eco modes alter the ratio of throttle position to power output while having no effect on max power available. For example, in sport mode a 20 degree twist of the throttle might give you 50 hp while in eco mode that 20 degree twist might only give you 40...

EBC Rotors and Fully Sintered Pads on 2015 F3.

I'm always amazed at the number of people that have suggestions contrary to the manufacturers who have a stake in their products performing optimally. With the HH pads, the 3-400- miles is a good idea for the best performance. (why would anyone want less than the best from their brakes??)...

    Oil drain plug torque values?

That’s a good reason to have the correct torque specs.

    Oil drain plug torque values?

I have done a couple of searches, but have found some inconsistent results. Can someone either direct me to or tell me the correct torque specs for the 2 drain bolts on an F3? Thanks.

    Rear tire (automotive) pressure?

[that improves life’s QUOTE=jaherbst;1411986]You recalibrate your tire gauge once a year? How in the world do you do that? Jack I send it to Accugauge and they calibrate it. Probably not quite as often as once a year, but it’s been done several times. Many cars I’ve owned use ultra expensive...
