• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Planning a Trip to the Ozark Mountains - any advice?

You might want to consider getting a Butler map for motorcycle rides in the Ozarks. They are a heavy duty map that won't tear up easily, have good rides all scoped out, and tips if appropriate... such as it might say: there are 7 very often wet/slick low water crossings on this route, as...

Is it normal for 2011 RT to have very touchy steering at speed?

I found that setting the front tire pressures, when cold, at 18psi solved the problem for me. Otherwise, it felt like a beachball bouncing all over the place. Also lowered the new rear tire to 25 psi.

Shipping Services for Pull-behind Trailer - Reliable Shipping Company Names??

Many thanks to all who responded. The company that made the camping trailer is now out of business.. so no support for parts and accessories. I have decided to let the private party sell it to someone else.

Shipping Services for Pull-behind Trailer - Reliable Shipping Company Names??

Thinking of purchasing a pull-behind camping trailer from a private party but it is several states away... would need to have it shipped. Am asking for information as to which reliable shipping company to contact... and which ones to definitely stay away from. Many thanks.

    To Windshield or.....

I do not know which windshield would fit your bike but I can tell you I had an F4 on my Gold Wing GL1800 trike and absolutely LOVED it.. It was of much thicker material than the Gold Wing OEM shield. Best of all... I could clean it with regular Windex and paper towels... never a scratch...

Does this handlebar look factory standard for my 2021 RTL?

Yes.. Helibars... no more trying this and that, sending it back or trying to sell it, then buying something else... once and done with the customizable Helibars.

Old Harley Rider considering a Spyder - load limit concerns?

JohnnyG56... Be SURE your ramp opening on the toyhauler is wide enough for the Spyder (or any trike) to enter before you purchase a Spyder. Some of the toyhaulers have an inset on each side of the ramp opening which limits the entry width, although the interior of the garage may be wide...

Selling my Spyder - should I let them ride, or pillion?

When I put my Gold Wing trike up for sale I decided to put it on consignment at a local dealer. I did not want to have to contend with the exact same situations that has been discussed here already. Nor did I want to hassle with low-ball offers and potential weirdos showing up at my home...

    Backrest - BRP or Showchrome for a 2020 RT-L?

Utopia gets an A+ for me. I have had Utopias on a lot of 2-wheelers and the Gold Wing trike I had. But I purchased the Show Chrome for the Spyder in the interim while the Utopia people were on vacation at the time. Did not like it AT all.. felt like a tiny hard fist on my spine. The Utopia...

Recommend iMotorsports for your B.E.S.T. Extended Warranty

Same price I was quoted by the dealer who sold me the machine. When he saw the "are you crazy?" look in my eyes he came down to $900. Luckily, thanks to reading Spyderlovers, I knew I could buy it at IMotorsports with Thomas Palmer for $671... so, told my dealer I would think about it, left...

Has anyone installed modulator head lights?

I had a 1981 Honda GL500 Interstate for 12 years with modulator - never any kind of headlight problems. Sold it for a 1987 Kawasaki Voyager 1200 I had for 8 years with modulator - never any kind of headlight problems. I did get some comments on the CB from other motorists - that my headlights...

I have spotted a 2020 RT LTD that might suit me - what do you think?

I chose the 2021 RTL as it was the most similar thing for comfort to me as my Gold Wing trike. I like the more upright touring position and the F3L was too "cruiser" stylish with the feet forward. Plus, my model appears to lend more protection from the wind and rain - much like the big...

Any recommendations on where to get 2012 RT-S SM5 service manuals?

You could download a manual online to your computer; copy it on to a thumb drive; take it to Office Depot or the like and have them print it out on a spiral binder. We did that several times with various manuals. So nice to have a print-out to refer to.

Need to replace my Sena - any reviews on Sena 50's?

Always had CB's on all the bikes through the years. Bought the Spyder. Had read on this forum of many problems with CB's for the Spyder. Did not know about other communication devices. After some research, it came down to Cardo or Sena. Went to Cycle Gear store. Stood there and stood there...

Thank you mother nature for the reminder

Same here plus lightning. In the ‘80s I knew of a BMW rider traveling in open country in New Mexico when a storm hit. Nowhere to go for shelter on this long stretch of barren road so he had to ride on. He was found dead. Cause of death… lightning struck his belt buckle and of course caused...
