• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Top Front Shock bolts??

Been there, done that, twice. I put Elkas on my 13 STL and the front end looks much the same. As others have said, take the weight off the wheel, the bolt comes out fairly easy if you don't have huge hands and put the bolt back in from the opposite direction. Not hard at all. Would suggest...

    Took the plunge!

I'm drooling. I've always liked red. But not until we come off the road.

    Any Covers for 2020 RTL's?

Suggest Nelson Rigg covers. We live on the road and have found they are a little heavier than many others and hold up well.

Best grease to use for lubing suspension

Just pullin' your leg a little Ron. But still shame on me for not even knowing they exist and making sure they were lubed at least every other oil change. And overkill never hurts.

Best grease to use for lubing suspension

OK Ron. Now you have shamed me. I'll have to go crawling under my '13 ST-L and find those fittings. But thanks. Really. I have 49K miles on my spyder and based on tire wear, I still have about perfect alignment. I'd like to keep it that way.

Best grease to use for lubing suspension

Holy Cow!!!! I have never tried to do this myself, but admit I have a shop do my oil change. I wonder if they grease these fittings????? Can you "get there" with a regular grease gun?

2014 ST-L Fuel Vapor Smell and Drip from Canister Vent

I've had this smell ever since I bought my '13 ST-L. Never gas on the ground though. Am interested to find out what tupperwear needs to be removed to find this canister.

    2014 ST Coolant Question

Is the coolant proprietary? Couldn't the same extended life coolant be bought from an auto parts store a lot cheaper and perhaps easier?

    2nd Elka leaker

Yahooooo, I hope. SDHQ does rebuild ELKA and they have the stuff on hand. I rode the bike over today and the fellow I spoke to said I could pick it up tomorrow PM. Seemed pretty much a ho hum for them. I had to take the whole bike over as I have no way to jack it up and take the shock off...

    2nd Elka leaker

I haven't called them yet. It's Sunday. I will give them a call tomorrow AM. Thanks for the hit. We are in Apache Junction so they are easily accessible.

    2nd Elka leaker

Thanks for the input. Sounds like I unknowingly bought a known problem. Shame on me. I should have come here and asked BEFORE I bought them. I have found a suspension shop/dealer here in the Phoenix area (actually Gilbert) and the fellow I talked to this AM said they are repairing Elkas...

    2nd Elka leaker

Some of you may remember that one year ago I had one of my fairly new (1 year old) Elka Stage 2 front shocks spring a leak. Got it fixed under warranty and it has performed as new during that time. Now the other front is leaking at the shaft. Not happy. If these were on a 4 wheeler pounding...

    Seeking information

We live in a motor home fulll time and have moved our '13 ST in a pickup behind the motor home WITHOUT A COVER all the time. It get awful dirty but no damage ever. I would not use a cover in motion. Period. We have been doing this for 7 years without incident. Just my experience.

WELL, if this is what retirement is like......

OK, my 2 cents. I have been retired now for 17 years and don't regret a day of it. I can say that I went for at least 8 years before I woke up any morning without at least one "project" on my mind to do. Every day is not always exciting but at the worst pleasurable. And as we sold the house...

    Demise of MCN magazine

Wow! Should we start an "old Luddites" club. I would love to be a charter member.

    Demise of MCN magazine

I go back to the Road rider days also. The Carpenters were the publishers but Fred Rau was the editor if I remember correctly. Seems the sentiments are pretty well the same here. This one mag is a loss for motorcycling and good journalism.

2013 ST-S Size of Grease Fittings

Not sure where or what you are refering to. I have a '13 ST and I have put Elka stage 2 suspension under it and there are no zerks on it that I have seen.

    Demise of MCN magazine

Not sure if any or many of you read Motorcycle Consumer News motorcycle magazine, but it has gone bye bye. As a subscriber, I received a notice of bankruptcy in the mail. Personally I am very sad to see this one go. It was the the only one to my knowledge that was entirely subscriber...
