• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Pain in the A..

I have the stock seat and use an Alaska Leather buttpad sheepskin. I find after 60 to 90 minutes I must stop and stretch. I may get away with 2+ hours at the beginning of the day but as the day wears on, the stretches on the seat get shorter. If it's warm, I need to drink anyway or take a...

I want to say thank you!

I'm going to Sherbrooke I'm going to Sherbrooke in Province of Quebec. 1100 kms both ways. Mostly highways. Bracebridge and areas are really nice. You should try the road that crosses Algonquin Park. Make sure you avoid silly traffic out of TO on 400. Safe riding.

    Extended warranty?

Peace of mind I bought it for peace of mind. Full 5 years. Don't forget you get Roadside Assistance. If you have an old car maybe you buy AAA or CAA but I'm not sure the basic plan covers motorcycles. At least with BRP Best Roadside, you have to assume that the towing company knows how to...

I want to say thank you!

I've had my Spyder for two months now. Just back from a short ride. I love it. I haven't found yet anything I don't like about it. Of course I could find a few things if I was working for BRP and was asked to give a list of improvements. For example, the BRP Connect is not...

Free software upgrade for 2018 Spyder

Just got a letter as well Just a received a letter as well. Apparently it takes just a few minutes. Anybody knows whether a dealer gets paid by BRP for doing this. My dealer is 4 hours away so if a dealer gets paid and it's only a 15 minutes job I suppose I could have it done at any dealer...

Anyone trade an RT for a F3? Which is best for passenger ride?

When I took delivery of my 2018 F3L, there was a couple trading their F3L for an RT because of passenger comfort. They said solo was hands down the F3 but with passenger hands down the RT.

    F3T or F3L

I have the F3L and love it. I had the same decision to make and I was convinced by the argument that on resale or trade you are better off with a stock bike than a bike with farkles and aftermarket parts. If you think you can live with the T as is without making it an L in the future than...

Anyone switched from RTS to F3L? Was it a mistake?

If you really like the adjustable screen on the RT ... Keep it! I test rode both before I bought my F3L. I like the ride of the F3 better but I would have liked the adjustable screen of the RT. That said, I decided I would buy a Spyder one minute into my first test ride with the RT. So I...

Zumo 660 can't be trusted in my opinion

I have a BMW Navigator V which I think is equivalent to Zumo 660 or 665. It has worked really well for me. I keep it up to date with Garmin Express. I use the setting "No highways" sometimes and have noticed that the distance and time can increase significantly. I don't think your unit uses...

    Looking For Windshield Advice....

I have a 2018 F3L and just like other posters above I've been using what Revzilla shows as MRA X-Creen Tour Variable Windscreen Spoiler Blade at https://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/mra-x-creen-tour-variable-windscreen-spoiler-blade I had this from a previous bike. A very inexpensive and...

Things I love about my spyder

I've had my 2018 F3L for several weeks, 1650 miles and I love everything about it. The only thing mine is missing from your list is the adjustable windscreen. Happy rider here

    GPS

I haven't read every post but if you plan to use your phone as the GPS unit, you should look at Genius Maps, the APP for the 2018 BRP Connect. You can use that APP on your phone directly if you do not have a 2018 model. The maps are downloaded and stored on the phone so no data. You can...

    New purchase input

I just bought my first Spyder and went for the 2018 F3L. I like the lower seating position on the F3 and the tighter turns, less pull. The floorboards on the F3 give you a lot of options regarding your leg position even without changing their location. That said, I would have liked the...

Amsoil 10w-40 metric oil - what do you think?

I haven't had my first oil change yet, but I don't think you need to argue with them. Just check your owner's manual for the oil specs. I have a 2018 F3L. The specs say Use (P/N 293 600 121) or a 5W-40 semi-synthetic or synthetic motorcycle oil meeting the requirements for API service SJ...

F3 is disabled due to battery disconnected

Thanks for the cheer leading Indeed, I removed the grill, lifted the plastic bottom (removed the three push-screws first) and there they were. Put everything back as should be and all is fine! Thanks for the input JG

F3 is disabled due to battery disconnected

Today it was raining so I decided to install a cable for the battery tender. As I am trying to reconnect the wires to the battery terminals, I dropped a screw. It looks like I will have to disassemble the bike to find it so I look for another screw. Luckily I found two from a previous bike...
