• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Starting and running the Spyder all winter

No riding today for us, but here's some things to think about - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YCo2kQwBFSI NOCO Genius is on the 16 F3T and Stabil 360 in the tank; your brands will vary! Looking forward to the next warm day or two...

Lamonster or Can Am Spyder Accessories PEGS?

We purchased Lamonts NBV brackets for our 11 RT, and when I traded for the 15 base RT, I moved them and have been happy with the foot placement - I am 5- 9 and have done many 300 mile days. Standard seat, and now a Corbin seat with Kuryakn bag on the passenger seat as a backrest on longer...

Rear wheel weights and bearings questions

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DTjnA1-LAcI&ab_channel=Dbest1a%E2%80%99sRide I have used the HarborFreight stand to balance many bike wheels from a 750 Sportster to a half dozen of the 225R15 rear wheels from Spyders. It works well and just requires patience to wait out about 10 spins of the...

Rear wheel weights and bearings questions

Its nice to have a shop that can mount and check balance and take the time to adjust for a smooth roll!

    1330 Cold riding changes

Buttersmooth - my 15 RT stays in an unheated garage with temps lately in the 20s - I noticed some surging to the clutch engagement yesterday as I pulled out of the gravel drive with low throttle/ about 1500 RPM.... I do think the oil does have some effect, but also second Jetfixers...

Rear wheel weights and bearings questions

Yep - Rolling smooth on the 16 F3T and 15 RT at 70,000 miles. One less step to worry about and saves a balance charge. We order two tires at a time from Walmart and no charge to mount. We got ours from Lamonster Garage.

Rear wheel weights and bearings questions

I pull the sprocket wheel off and I pull the sprocket wheel off and scrape the existing wheel weights off of the inside of the rim. I also unbolt the brake disk rotor from the hub so that it isnt accidentally bent or dropped on that side... If your tire shop is one you trust, you probably...

    Foot Pedal Question

My wife loves the RIP boards from Lamonster on her 16 F3T. She loves the ability to move her feet around as well as settle in on longer rides.

    Why the odd Tire/rim size's - 2012 with 14" rims front; 15" rear?

When we had the 11 RT it never was an issue and same way when they changed to the 15" fronts for good reasons as Peter details. I have a bigger issue with the little donut spare tires we get with cars now, especially here in the west where you may be 100 miles from town and have a flat...

Can’t get 2020 oil dip stick to release

The tolerance on these plastic parts has been tight it seems even on the wifes 16 model F3T - I needed pliers to remove the first time. A little film of oil or grease on the threads or cap and after a few times it was not an issue, but the dry plastic threads seemed to "Stick".

What's with pressing the ECO Button before starting?

But it does give you the "inside" info you need to start the bike... the uninitiated non-Spyder ryder can't just start your bike! As Bill Murray said on Caddyshack - "So I got that goin for me, which is always nice":roflblack:

    Full Tank of Fuel

You wont ever get the full listed capacity in or out of the tank Kind of like the specs on cubic ft of storage capacity on an SUV, the rounded corners and crannies that techincally make up the total capacity cannot be utilized. On the Spyder tanks, head space to allow for fuel expansion...

Rear brake Pad Change frequency on RTL 2014+

I replaced the rear pads at 36,100 mi on the 15 RT with BajaRons EBC pads. Had the fronts replaced by Lamonster garage when they inspected and aligned the front again at 56,000 mi last year. Mostly highway miles and let the engine downshift, but they were both due...

Fitting BajaRon F3 anti-sway bar links only - any good?

I replaced the links on the wifes Intense Red F3T with the red anodized links from BajaRon a couple years ago and my wife was really happy with the red sparkles, I mean Farkles. She could really see them :joke: And a week or so ago I put on the BajaRon bar.

    RT 1330 MPG ??

Like others have said higher speeds do cost in fuel economy, especially with the RT and its larger wind resistance profile. My wifes F3T gets a little better gas economy than my 15 RT when we ride together on our 300 mile jaunts down to see the inlaws in Kansas. If we hold to 60-65 mph on...

Comparing my 2020 RTL to my previous 2014 RTL

Love the Floorboards on the new 2020- mirrors not so much I had an hour to check out the new 2020 Can Am RT design with the tried and true 1330 SE6 platform. The new body style with split seat and top case provide a little different ergonomics with slightly more seating room and storage and...

    2020 F3 Ltd Fuel Economy

As a former science teacher I decided to test the hypothesis that “you get better gas mileage at higher altitude”. Yesterday three Spyders took a little ride from Pueblo up to Cripple Creek, 160 miles roundtrip and starting at 5000 ft up to 9500 ft elevation. The route was about half...

Thinking about adding Centramatic wheel balancers to the front of my RT

We have them on the wifes F3 all three wheels. I just went to see how much balance weight the fronts had, and realized that I just had the Formozas mounted at Walmart (buy them online and mounting is included) and we never had them balanced. Easy peazy when I swap wheels or when we get a...
