• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Hydroplaning...

Learning to account for road conditions is part of all motoring. Getting experience with low traction conditions allows safer travel with better speeds and stopping control which in short is slower and greateer following distances. Those with experience on ice and snow covered roadways usually...

1330cc My 2014 RT is Over heating - any ideas on how to correct?

Wifes 16 F3T went into Limp Mode after 20 miles down the Interstate last evening in 100 plus temperature. She said that the temp bars were one blank from the top, but she was able to run 50 mph in the right lane for 2 miles to get to an exit. When she got off the Interstate, she let shut it...

    Spyders proliferating......It's good

In Colorado, driving in the left lane (except to pass) is against the law... it seems that both cars and bikes are mixed in the left or passing lane. But I see the ride is routed thru KS on 281 south to north, so nevermind.

Which rear tire should I get?

We have been happy with the General Altimax RT 43 and the Kumhos Ecsta AST getting much better wear on the roads around here (Colorado, Utah, Okla, KS, MO). Discount Tire has been able to get them in and swap them out - all I need to do is bring them the wheel and we're good to go.

After owning one, are you guys still hype with it, compared to before you owned it?

Wife got a little wet yesterday on her ride home.... she rides the F3T as her ride of choice on her 75 mile RT commute to and from work April thru October. I guess she still likes her "Red Rocket"[ATTACH=CONFIG]174055[/ATTACH She wont be needing the jacket today as the temps are forecast...

    My missing gallon?

All liquid storage tanks including gas tanks allow for "head space" for expansion with changes in temperature. Don't count on the last gallon of capacity especially on the RTs since their fill spout is on the side of the tank. Even with the F3s larger tank capacity the actual usable volume...

factory 12 volt on ST LIMITED

Spydies typically have a 3.5 amp fuse on their 12V outlets - the compressors use about 6-10 amps depending on model. I recommend using a SAE plug wire set to the battery, and change out the lower amp fuse (typically found in a battery tender harness) with a 10 amp fuse, or just use the...

Anyone changed their 1330 trans filter yet?

Changed three HCM filters so far - No BUDS required Its easiest to just wait until your next 9300 mile or 15,000 km oil change and when you have a little extra time to walk through it but its easy especially if you have the ball head metric allen head sockets (Harbor Freight is a source). I...

ZUMO GPS dies on engine start

I read about a fix that spreads the internal battery contacts and allows better charging while installed - It worked for my 590 LM http://www.totally4bikers.com/blog/biking-blather/does-your-garmin-zumo-590-run-on-its-battery-for-only-a-few-minutes/ I did do a full charge from the USB...

    Add oil

If you have not rode the bike for 10 miles and then let it idle for 10 minutes before shutting it down and checking the oil, you might not need oil. But straight after you do, use a narrow spout funnel in the dipstick tube and add a little oil if needed. M in MAX is plenty.

Riding with no air in air suspension on F3-T

The 47 # on the hitch will be loading he hitch and forcing down the rear wheel a little more.... the no air in the air bag will be compressing the spring around your rear shock and bottoming out more. It probably will let you know to slow down a bit more on rough roads :dontknow: ;)

Ok, the Spyder arrived - the questions begin

Rear lift point is on the 4" main frame member. I use a square of rubber tread to keep the jack from slipping off of the flat metal frame. As far as removing the GPS mount, it should be easier than breaking loose the original lock-tited handlebar bolts, but a 24" breaker bar with the...

Oil level check results confusing to me

Like Ron and others have said the newer designs require us to learn new ways to check oil. I am impressed with the efficiency of Rotax engines and I have seen a variety of oil levels when I tried to check the engine without being fully warmed up and guess that the pumps lobes position sometimes...

    Centramatic Rear Balancer Question

Thanks hOgr1der and I did edit my previous post as after rethinking it and measuring my sensor clearance, I agree with you. My current clearance from sensor to toothed ring is .96 mm and I will need to research the specs for my 2016. I appreciate your attention to detail and especially the...

    Centramatic Rear Balancer Question

"This moves the sensor ring closer to the sensor. " It will also move the sensor ring with relation to the sensor ifyou swapped spacers or bearings and then ...you are right It would be good to check the clearances, Pre & Post centramatic install, but I doubt Lamonster would put out the...

    Centramatic Rear Balancer Question

Since the centraMatic disk is behind the disk and sensor ring, its relation to the caliper arm and the sensor which is mounted on the arm is still Okay... It just moves the wheel to the left slightly in the swingarm as I see it... There is room in the swingarm for this slight add of the...
