• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

How long did your first front sprocket last ??

Interesting. I was under the impression that both the RTs and F3s use the same 1300 motor, and that they are all assembled in one factory. (Kinda hope your assessment is true, because I have an RT. I wonder if it's because the F3s are driven a lot harder (for the most part) than RTs ....).

Love the small sticker denoting the size of the bit to use. I ended up buying the magnetic engine and transmission oil plugs that are hex, and will install them on the next oil change. My cuts are a bit neater. I started with my Dremel Saw-Max tool and made one cut, but quickly realized that...

Yeah, or you can do that. However, it is my opinion that it's better to leave it on for two reasons: (1) it offers protection against any road debris (small rocks, gravel, etc.) and decreases the dirt collecting in the nooks and crannies of the machine, and (2) it aids in the airflow from...

Yes, you are correct. I believe this mod applies only to the RT. We tried to do this mod on your F3, but it wasn't necessary, iirc. Let's get the group together and ryde soon !!

    23) Trimming off some plastic underneath engine oil drain plug Difficulty Level - 1.0 Tips - Jack up the bike for easier access. You can use a Dremel and trim off a small section just forward of the drain plug while it's still attached to the bike. If you do not have access to such tool, the...

BTW, if anyone is interested in TWO Lidlox helmet locks, please don't hesitate to PM me. (They are about 2 years old, but I dropped and lost one of the small set screws when I initially installed it. However, I've found that it still works without it).

I've been thinking and that isn't always good - do belt vibrations cause pulley failu

I like to think like you do as well. I have a BMW with a 5-speed manual transmission. Whenever I upshift, I try to rev match, reducing the abruptness when I release the clutch. I currently have 185,xxx miles on my car, and it STILL has the original clutch. I believe that if hit the paddle...

    Where did you start?

My first bike was the venerable 4-stroke Honda XR200R (Ride Red !!). I came late in the motorcycle game because my parents didn't want me to have a bike. So when I was in the service, my commanding officer was selling this particular bike, and my love of motorcycling started. It was my first...

Not much mod per se, but just a quick tip. I also frequent the many pages on Facebook involving Spyders. Many times, I run across owners breaking their latch release on their side compartments when they're trying to open them. I think this happens because the compartment doesn't open, so they...

    22) Lamonster IPS Bar End Caps Difficulty Level - 1.0 Tips - If you try and install one bar end cap and it doesn't look or feel right, try switching it to the other. When I initially installed my left bar end, I noticed it stuck WAY out. I figured there's NO WAY Lamont and his crew would...

What size Oetiker Clamp is needed on lower Radiator hoses?

IMHO, these work just as good, are less expensive and are easier to remove/install as those Oetiker clamps.

    Help me Choose a Spyder?

Before you go on your test drive, search within yourself as to WHAT you will use it for and what TYPE of riding will you be primarily be doing. Also, MAKE SURE you sit on ALL the bikes available, and find which one is the MOST comfortable. I cannot stress this last part enough. Anyway, good...

Fun Road Signs seen in Nevada

German cars are really built for speed. My BMW at 133 mph was rock stable. The faster it went, the more stable it got. I-50 is the closest road for me to being in the Autobahn.

Fun Road Signs seen in Nevada

Now that I don’t have any vibrations above 65 mph since my friends and I lowered the belt tension, I want to go to I-50 to perform a top speed run. But I’m afraid my Magic Mirrors might “magically” fly off and disappear, LOL.
