• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Where do you get your maintenance items?

For those that do their own servicing, where do you get your oil, filters, etc? Do you only use BRP brand products? I am capable of doing the maintenance items listed as "customer" in the manual, but I do not want to use poor quality products. That being said, I don't want to spend too much...

Always Always Always Rock the Gear!

ATGATT = All The Gear All The Time That acronym has been around for a very long time. Common sense, on the other hand... is not really common at all. I am glad she lived and is helping educate others but for the life of me can't imagine a reason for doing 120 MPH on a bike. And remember, all...

**** "DO'S & DO NOTS" for NEW SPYDER OWNERS... ****

I had read this thread before purchasing my RT-S SE5 as well as reading an online owner's manual. The information here is very helpful. I rode home from the dealer using the shifting guidelines and maintaining 5000-5500 RPMs. Thanks so much to the experienced owners for helping out those of us...

    Everones favorite

Blue Ridge Parkway! Rode the full length of it (and Skyline Drive) a couple years back with the wife on a pair of 50cc Honda Ruckus scooters. Looking forward to doing it on the Spyder.

    Anyone recommend a good dealer?

I'll chime in on Big Number 1 in Birmingham. I stopped by to see what they had in stock and at the time was a 2012 RT-S SE5 and a 2012 RSS SE5. Like any dealer, they started off with MSRP plus tax, I made a counter offer and they declined it. Fair enough, so I left (I hate negotiating back and...

    We got one!

LOL, yeah. I took almost 9 hours to go 383 miles on non-Interstate roads from Kodak, TN to Centreville, AL. Lots of stops, lots of stretching, 3 fill ups for a total of 11.3 gallons and 1 stop to eat at McDonald's. Even though it was overcast and drizzly at times, I had my full gear on so I...

    We got one!

The wife and I picked up a brand new 2012 RT-S SE5 yesterday! We've been looking for a Spyder for a while and debated on getting a 2013 ST, but couldn't pass up the deal we got on this one. I must say one thing... I never knew how nice heated grips were! It is heavily overcast today but I took...

How many miles do you have on your RT?

When I left the dealer on 12/6/2012, it had 1. Now it has 383 miles on it.

    Just got a new ST-limited

Thanks for sharing this info. I had read the online owner's manual and had formed my opinion based on what I gleaned from it. However, your post (along with pitbull's) has convinced me to broaden my search area a little. So who has a heck of a deal on a 2012 RS SE5? Or maybe a base 2013 ST...

Just got our first one in

Am I correct that you should not ride these long distance when brand new due to it needing a proper break in period?

    Just got a new ST-limited

I'm new here so don't know who is who... but I gather that you are a dealer. I would come buy one but riding it back to Alabama is a no go... as it would not be proper break in riding.

Would you mind sharing what you paid for it "out the door"?

Potential new owner with a few questions...

I have located a 2010 RT SE5 with 1700 miles on it. It has several professionally made and installed aftermarket accessories like highway pegs, floor boards, hand brake, etc. It is beyond the manufacturer's warranty period and the owner states there are no issues at all with the bike. The...
