• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Spyder Motor Oil Query - Soliciting Opinions (((Pics)))

Jake, if you can’t find Rotella T6 at Walmart, try the nearest truck stop. I was in Pilot a couple of days ago and they had it. I’ve also seen it at Sam’s Club and auto parts places like Auto Zone. When I owned my own truck, I used Rotella oils. I’ve also run it in Harleys with no problems; I...

    A tale of 2 spyders

If there is an upside, other than the model-based differences, the platforms are nearly identical in most respects. Personally I'd go with the "unfarkled" unit unless the other is modified in exactly the ways you would choose anyway. JMHO, Bob

Wait is over - picked up a 2019 F3S Special!

Given all the "supply chain problems" that sounds like a good choice. Congratulations!

Interesting news out of BRP on electrification.

Plug-in hybrid experience In my family, we have owned 3 plug-in hybrids, but no full EVs. 2 Fords (C-Max and Fusion) and now a Chrysler Pacifica. That said, I lease these vehicles rather than buy them because the technology is forever shifting. Three years and it becomes someone else's...

    March 2022 weather news

Nice weather out here in Central California over the weekend. Left home Saturday with sunshine and 77 degrees, rode up the freeway (CA 58) into the mountains to Tehachapi, about 45 miles southeast and 4000 feet higher than the valley. It was about 10 degrees cooler up there, as you might expect...

What Differences between 2021 and 2022 Sea to Sky?

The ability to remove the trunk is probably one of the better enticements to trade up my '19 RTL. As someone else mentioned, one of the things I liked best about my RoadKing was being able to swing my leg over the back rather that have to "hop over" the seat or slide across it. Similar on my...

    Full Tank of Fuel

I have to say the little tank trailer is damn cool. Not so sure about its usefulness, at least as a tanker. As a former tanker yanker, count me impressed by the detail and work that must have gone into building it.

Is the shortage of F3 Batteries industry wide?

Agreed, the OEM battery (at least in my 2019 RTL) is a Yuasa anyway. When the time comes, I will most likely replace the OEM with a non-branded Yuasa rather than the OEM part. I had good experience with Yuasa in my previous Spyder and in a string of Harleys going back a couple of decades. Their...

Will the newer RT's still accept the '14 luggage?

I have the whole Hopnel set for a 2019 RT. Frunk, saddlebags and the two-piece stacking set for the trunk. All reasonably priced and nicely made. I've had good luck with them. Seems likely they won't last like a Samsonite, but replacement is not expensive so it's not a big loss.

2020+ RT Brake Pedal for Tall riders

I haven't encountered this problem on my 2019, which has a very different brake pedal. Pete and I do have similar sized feet. I did learn that installing an oversize brake pedal was exactly the wrong way to go, is it left no room at all for my boot on the floorboard. Great low-cost solution...

Website www.ourfee.com - any body have experience with them?

This is aimed more at network and security professionals, but Cisco Systems offers a really good reputation rating service: https://talosintelligence.com/reputation_center The rating is centered on email (or spam) volume but there is a lot of information here. The reputation is "Neutral" which...

    Sema show teaser #2

My first car was a 1968 Dodge Coronet 440. Metallic green outside, dark green vinyl roof, medium green vinyl inside. Very similar body to the Plymouth Satellite, and I think the front fenders were shared with the Charger and RoadRunner. Even though there was a 440 big block engine, for my car it...

how do i find out my model number on my can am?

Spyders do have a model number on the VIN tag but it’s not unique, it just identifies it, for example, as a red/chrome RT Limited. I do agree with Peter that for oil testing purposes it means fleet unit number, which identifies single units in a fleet of trucks, cars, trailers, etc. Unit number...

    Sema show teaser #2

Not sure if it’s a ‘Cuda or a Challenger, but none of those were ever manufactured with rear doors. As best I can tell it’s not a convertible, it’s just a vinyl top. A few MOPAR (Plymouth/Dodge) muscle cars did have those, but thankfully they were an exception to the rule.

Build date is 05/2020, selling as a 2021 model?

I bought my 19 RTL from iMotorsports. The MSO is included in the packet of paperwork that will be sent to you after the sale is complete. The document evidences the transfer of the vehicle from BRP to the dealer to you, and was notarized by someone at iMotorsports. The MSO was necessary for me...

    Pre hibernation battery charge/maintainer options

I have both a Deltran Battery Tender (3 amp) on the Spyder and the much physically smaller Yuasa (1 amp) on the '91 Sturgis. Both units seem to work just fine; both bikes also have Yuasa batteries installed. Never a failure to start right up.

Difference in SE6 downshift under braking?

I think I get it. Not downshifting without using the brakes is a design "feature", not a design "oversight" or "error". Got to love the marketing folks. :joke:
