• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Went to the Can-Am Experience this weekend

I'm going to the Can-Am Experience this weekend in Elk Grove, CA. Not exactly around the corner but the best timing. Like you said, Warsuul, I've signed up to ride an F3 for the purpose of seeing how different it is from my 2019 RTL. I like the stripped-down F3 base for its simplicity. But...

My first ride in the rain

My first Spyder ryde in the rain surprised me quite a bit. The rider protection is pretty good, and I noticed after getting home that my boots were hardly damp and not soaked. Better than I expected. My worst experience was on my Harley. It was raining pretty hard in the western suburbs of...

Red Dust of Death Recall???? Front Sprocket Recall - FINALLY....

I had my "final solution" - and yes, it actually says that on the shop ticket - done two weeks ago. Fred Cummings Motorsports here in Bakersfield didn't ask me for any money. Took about 2 hours from arrival to departure.

    Our Four Seasons

Hmm... in California's Central Valley, there are three seasons, in no particular order: 1. Chilly 2. Hot 3. Scorching Once in awhile, water falls out of the sky. Depending on your elevation, it can be either rain or snow. More than usual this year, but we've had several years virtually without...

Big thanks to everyone for the great advice and ideas...

On my 2019 RTL, and on my 2014 ST, the back end of the license plate bolt is accessible from under the rear fender/fender extension/whatever you want to call it. The wire to the passenger seat goes to a contact switch that tells Nanny you are riding two-up. In turn this calls up some alternate...

Apple Car Play or Android Auto for Your Spyder

Maybe the '22 models are different, but I have a '19 like EdMat. BRP Connect app is almost worthless, and once I'm on the road, the only choice is to crank it way up and listen to thin, tinny, distorted sound from the system speakers or what I normally do: leave it off. CarPlay and Android Auto...

Your experience/thoughts on Spyder vs Other Trikes?

A problem with equilibrium inhibits me from riding much on two wheels. As a long-term Harley owner, I gave them the first opportunity to convince me by riding both of their trikes. (There is a new trike based on the RoadGlide for 2023 but I expect it has the same problems.) The Freewheeler has...

Would you buy a Chinese motorycle?

Unfortunately, parts availability and getting good service seems to plague BRP too. Witness the recent issues with the sprocket recall, and that Spyder dealers are getting few and far between compared to a few years ago. But I'm not inclined to purchase anything from China that doesn't have a...

Just picked up my 2015 RTL

First off, congratulations! Great looking Spyder! As far as "brake pedal extender" I'm not quite sure what you mean. But if it is the oversize pedal pad, don't waste your time and money. I wear size 15 as well, tried the pedal pad and found out I had NO room for my boots on the floorboards. The...

Post up your Local Area Weather News - January Edition, 2023

Here in California's Central Valley, we are finally seeing a bit of rain lately. Temps are in the high 50s during the day with lows in the low 40s. There has been some snow up high in the surrounding mountains. This was not the case in November/December, where we seemed to turn from 100 degree...

    Christine McVie

Well, no one gets out alive, so the best you can do is leave an enduring legacy. Christine McVie is definitely among those with an enduring legacy. Many, many others though... each with their own contribution. We should be thankful for being able to record history and pass it along for posterity.

BRP email preferences - not letting me unsubscribe! Anyone else?

I unsubscribed from everything except "Can Am On-Road" at the time of my initial post. Since then, I've gotten 2 emails for On-Road, 1 for Off-Road and 2 for SkiDoo. It does make you wonder... Does BRP ever consider the negative effects of ignoring an explicit opt-out for unwanted...

Sprocket Final Fix Update from Shawn Smoak

BRP is a Canadian company (Valcourt, Quebec) so if the part is made in the USA, it is still a "foreign" item from BRP's viewpoint. I agree it's frustrating to wait for so long, but the rest of your statement is speculation.

BRP email preferences - not letting me unsubscribe! Anyone else?

Thanks, I just sort of figured someone else has had a similar experience. Seems to me you shouldn’t have to repeat the process every few weeks. That’s poor marketing practice IMO, or at least an odd way to show customer appreciation.

BRP email preferences - not letting me unsubscribe! Anyone else?

There is another current thread about BRP emails being legit. Rather than take that one off topic, I've got a different issue with them about legitimacy, and it's getting to be a pet peeve. I can't even remember how many times I have clicked on a SeaDoo or Can-Am Off Road or SkiDoo email to...

Well, okay, not 100% dead stock but all minor changes. Rider backrest, foam grip covers, Lidlox, Battery Tender pigtail. Mostly it works for me as it came. Bob

    November Weather News

Unseasonably cool here - high of 64 and low of 37. No precipitation, but we are in a severe drought. Did get some rain last week for the first time in months. Trust me, that is not a complaint, it is great riding weather. I’d much rather put on a jacket than be too hot. Cheers and Happy...
