• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    bobble head

I appreciate your concern , and you can rest assured that at no time have I been on the street dressed like this. I'll admit to moving it 50 feet or so around the yard to take pics and wash it, but that's it. Around here, you can get a bad burn on your hind end just by sitting on the...

    bobble head

I had to put a CalSci tinted shorty on mine because the buffeting was so ferocious. It made a huge difference for me. I'm not a very tall person (5'6"), so if you are taller a different height windshield may be in order. No, I don't wear shorts and flip-flops when I ryde. Tempted, though!

    I'm a little skeptical

The smell of fertilizer just came out of my computer! If there's air in the system, somebody opened a bleeder or cracked open a line. I bought a one-man brake bleeder a while back. It works like a champ, and it didn't cost much. A lot less than paying the dealer.

    Just braggin' rights, Bob!

I really want to like this bike...

Just got word The warranty company just approved the ball joint replacements. Their risk management dept had to approve it, and I guess they decided that their exposure to my risk was too much! Should have the bike back late next week. They are going to do the BRP alignment procedure, after...

I really want to like this bike...

And we're walking, walking... I really hope this downtime isn't typical. My bike's been sitting in the shop for 2 1/2 weeks and they've done squat. Parts hadn't even been ordered as of last Friday. I'll be doing my own wrenching from now on, unless BUDS is required or it's going to cost me more...

What we need to know about crashes

:agree: 0ne in five accidents were right-of-way violations, which is a stunning percentage! I will be equipped my RT-L with headlight and brake light modulators soon. I am also taken aback by the over-representation of us older ryders. Facts are facts- and with age comes diminished visual...

What we need to know about crashes

This podcast is well worth listening to. It points out the major causes of motorcycle crashes, and what we can do to reduce our risk. Spoiler- 28% of motorcycle/automobile crashes are caused by the car making a left turn into the path of the bike...

    I drove an F-3 T today!

Here's why I liked it so much First, the riding position, although feeling strange at first, turned out to be more comfortable than the more upright position of the RT. Second, the 1330 engine has more lower-end torque and was faster but not unmanageable. Third, the styling of the bike is...

    I drove an F-3 T today!

Yup- that's where I rode it! I had a great time!

    I drove an F-3 T today!

Shhhh - don't say anything to the other RT ryders, but I really liked the F-3, and I would trade in my RT for one in a heartbeat!

    Rats!

I've always used a .22 pellet rifle to dispatch them once they are in the trap, and I hate it. I ran over the tray, so I can't drown them! I don't like killing any animal for meat or sport, but vermin have to go. I'm not vegetarian, in case you were wondering. Between the two methods, shooting...

    Rats!

This oughta do it! I just ordered The Ratinator Live Rat Trap from Amazon. I have the Squirrelinator trap, and it works great. It comes with a plastic container that you fill with water and set the successful trap into in order to humanely dispatch the squatters.

    Rats!

My new RTL has become a pack rat hotel. Mechanic found a nest of pine needles in the compartment behind the frunk. :yikes: I thought I smelled it the other day when I pulled out of the driveway. Has anyone had success keeping the nasty little buggers out of parked vehicles?

I really want to like this bike...

"Nope, there's nothing wrong here." :banghead: So, I got a call from the dealer today. I said, look, if the wrench can't find the problem, I'll come down and show him. I jumped in my truck and was there 20 minutes later. The mechanic started to explain to me how the Spyder is different, how an...

Are floorboards worth the extra $$?

The '16 RTL that I rode over the weekend had really nice floorboards, with flexible rubber and all. My '12 RTL has pegs. I like them both, but for different reasons. The pegs give me instant feedback about foot placement and pressure, while the floorboards let me stretch my legs a bit and were...

I really want to like this bike...

I talked to the sales guys when I dropped off the loaner yesterday, but they weren't biting. They just smiled and said mine will ryde just like the '16 when it comes out of the shop. Who's playing whom here? Why can't they just shut up and take my money?:joke:

I really want to like this bike...

Spyder down for a while... Fortunately, I purchased an extended warranty that will cover the repairs. The sad part is that my Spyder will be in the shop for at least a couple of weeks; I'm having them fix a few other issues while they have it. Ball joints Install air scoops to cool down my...

I really want to like this bike...

I understand why... It's the how that eludes me. These are not cheap rydes, and my pockets aren't deep. Let's say that I wanted to keep this one, after just buying the first one in May. It doesn't seem likely that the dealer will just take the trade and pay off the note without asking me to...

I really want to like this bike...

The price of the '16 is why I bought the '12! I just don't know how you guys can keep trading in for new rydes without going broke. The financial mechanics escape me!:dontknow:
