• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I really want to like this bike...

The loaner is pretty nice! They loaned me a brand-new 2016 RTL with 3 miles on the clock for a couple of days. What a difference! It's more sensitive than mine, so it took some getting used to, but it handles like everyone says it should. The corners that gave me trouble before were easier to...

Bad ball joint on 2012 RTL?

Down for at least a week I had it towed to the dealer. They're going to check it out and fix it. The air scoop kit is going on as well.

I think I may have found the problem- bad ball joint(s) on the left side. Tow truck is on the way.

Bad ball joint on 2012 RTL?

I think I have a bad ball joint on the left side of my '12 RTL. I've been griping and complaining on the RT Touring forum about my bike's squirrely handling, and today coming back from lunch it starting shimmying really bad in a left-hand turn. Scared the hoo-haw out of me. Anyways, the right...

I hope so. Tonight's ride home was awful. The bike wouldn't hold a line in the curves; a little input gave too much output. Every time I relaxed my grip, the dang thing would head for the boonies. I felt the rear tire break loose a couple of times, and other times it felt drifty, especially...

I know. Without going into a lot of detail here, suffice it to say that the composition of our family doesn't allow me to make overnighters. I don't even travel for work if I can avoid it.

Or I could slip my nephew some party money and have him take it for me!

I really want to like this bike...

I would love to take it in to Squared Away, but there are 200 miles of Mojave Desert to go through, with an average high temp of 109°F this time of year. That's way too hot for me; in fact, it was so hot in Baker, CA a couple of weeks ago that my nephew turned his HD around and went back to Las...

Welcome our new SpyderLovers sponsor- Rampage

I saw this earlier and it looks like something I need! My Ridgeline's bed is only 5' long though, so I guess I'm out of luck.:gaah:

Shorty Antenna compared to stock antenna ...

When I changed mine, I cut off the whip and gave it a shot of Kano AeroKroil penetrating oil. Then I slipped a 7mm deep socket on and eased it out. Easy peasy! Kroil is awesome stuff. Smells funny, and I've kept a can handy for years. Amazon carries it, as do a lot of other places.

Wow! Greenery! And lots and lots of water! It looks like a very nice ride. Do you ever run into fog or wind?

Lol! There's no short way home, only choices of roads. I can go up the Valley Center Road grade (5% for 2.7 miles and then flat for 8 miles), which is 60 mph but mostly straight, or take the steep twisty way, which is much prettier and more fun!

    WUSSIN' OUT....

Ice cream!! Remember way back when you could go into a Thrifty drug store and get a huge scoop for a nickel?

I'll be leaving for home in an hour or so, and I'll work on my grip. My commute is 25 miles each way, with a great mix of surface streets, freeway, and 9 miles of twisties just before I see my gate. Thanks for the encouragement!

I really want to like this bike...

I've owned it for 5 1/2 weeks, and ridden it for 800 miles, and now I'm starting to wonder if it's me or the machine. It just feels squirrely. I've read a bazillion posts, and I try to stay relaxed and do the things that you folks with much more experience have shared, but riding this thing is...

    Pastic Bonding Resin?

reviving an old thread with some new information Here's how the Ninja 250 Riders Club fixes their broken ABS panels. I broke off a tab from the rear panel, so I'm glad to have found this nice little guide to ABS panel repair. http://faq.ninja250.org/wiki/Plastics_repair_with_ABS_cement

BRP Care comes through! 2012 RT-L engine heat

Late yesterday afternoon I submitted a complaint about the engine heat issue on the BRP Cares site, and first thing this morning I got a nice letter that said yup, we'll take care of it! I was very careful to phrase my complaint as someone who is otherwise happy and enjoying the bike, but that...

This site is costing me money...

because all the farkles I see discussed here are absolutely necessary and I must get them all. Even if they are for a different model and are nowhere near workable on mine! Seriously, though, it is hard to prioritize these purchases. If I had to rank farkles, it would be: Stumpy's Hierarchy...
