• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Starter Solenoid Problem Again !!!

BMW motorcycles used to have this occur when the battery voltage was low, don't know if it's applicable here, but you might want to check the condition of the battery. I had it happen to my wife's K75RT.

    Battery not charging

Sure, just hook up your volt amp meter to the battery, test at rest ( not running), at idle and around 1500-1800 rpm. It will tell you what is going on. At rest should be >12v, at idle + or - 13 and >13 at higher rpm. Check your battery connections. Did you have any high draw items on during...

Considering a Can Am Spyder Rt or Rt-S

Rt's didn't appear until 2010 , the 2012 RT is considered by some to be the best twin cylinder RT and WELCOME.

How hard is it to pull in clutch?

Do NOT buy one without her trying it out. Everybody is different and what is easy for one person could be unbearable for your wife. I'd go with the SE5 or SE6. I had a 2008 GS with the SM5 and now a 2012 SE5, the SE5 is much nicer to ride in my opinion.

Troubleshooting Help: Front Cylinder not firing.

Be careful pulling the spark plug leads, if they are ungrounded it can damage the coils. Before you get too far into it, check the vacuum lines on the the throttle body. There are 2, one for each cylinder, the one in front seems to affected most by the trapped heat. They are easy to replace and...

    Rotator cuff surgery

I had rotator cuff surgery Oct 5th. Doc said no shooting for 6 months, but I could ride after 3. Riding wasn't too bad. After 7 months I still can't do a lot of things, but it is getting better. Mine was torn really bad and most of the damage was done 30 years ago, the first surgeon said nothing...

    recommendations for riding gear,

Motoport. Custom fit and it's what a lot of the moto cops wear. I've been wearing their Kevlar jacket and pants for 20 years, yes I wash them. If you ever get a chance to visit their shop have them show you their collection of other brands of crashed jackets and pants. It'll send shivers up your...

    Trouble Shooting

If you have a Volt/Ohm meter hook it up ro the battery you should have around 12.8 v at rest, then with it still connected try to start it and check the voltage. If it drops bellow 12 your battery is toast.

    Bright lights save lives...

It all helps, but a very good friend was sitting on her bike behind a stopped school bud with all of it's lights flashing and was rear ended by a woman who said" I didn't see her". My friend had strobe brake lights and an added brake light bar on her bike. Sometime you're just invisible.

    Good Enclosed Trailer for RT

We haul ours in an Aluma 6X12 V nose back forth from SD to AZ for the Winter. i like all aluminum trailers because the steel frame and aluminum side ones I've seen all suffer from corrosion where the 2 metals meet.

I used to carry a CO2 cartridge repair kit, the one time I needed it the first patch didn't seal the tire and by the time I realized it I didn't have enough cartridges to fill it up. I use a small elec pump now.

Who here has or uses a Leatherman or equivalent?

Been carrying a Skeletool for many years, before that their multi-tool. When they first came out I surprised my wife with a small diamond and ruby bracelet for her birthday, she looked at it and said I'd rather have a Leatherman tool.

    A new sport for me....

For REAL excitement try going down the stairs with your crutches. You get out over about 3 steps in a hurry and then need to swing back before you crash. BTDT. Good Luck.
