• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Cleaning and waxing products

Jul0682, Yes, you are correct that Lamonsters Black Diamond is just a detailer. It is good but won't take out swirl marks or light scratches. The stuff you mentioned that you have won't either. Some products are just fillers and the swirls and light scratches will reappear after washing. Keeping...

    Spyder Key question

My wife and I also use the key sheath that comes with the Spyders and neither of us have had a problem. I read a lot on here and have for a few years and cannot recall ever hearing of any body loosing a key from the sheath. So I too would love to hear any body that has. Gary

    Helmet Prices

The one I was looking at was on a Shoei full face here in Canada so I would assume the USA usually gets this type of thing before us. I could be wrong. Gary

    Clutch Shocker!

Purple Guy, I'm curious if your friend had noticed any change in performance? The dealer said some of the plates had disintegrated /exploded. I thought he might have felt something unusual with it when shifting or accelerating. Gary

To cover or not to cover...

Well there are some that are not supposed to be removed and are purely decorative. I guess someone can remove them if they wish. But removing them won't help with removing any Tupperware. This has been pretty well documented in the past. Gary

To cover or not to cover...

Yes I have to agree with this. If plan A isn't working them move on to plan B. Gary

Has anyone given their Spyder a "Name"???

We call it the Spyder as in "hey, do you want to go for a ride on the Spyder"? Sometimes call it "bike". Not really into naming our vehicles unless they really piss me off and then they get called names that I can't say here. Gary

    Helmet Prices

I recently was looking at a Shoei full face helmet with this feature. I was very impressed and I think/hope that this becomes standard. I agree with what PMK said. I just can't get my thoughts and head around buying a cheap helmet just to save a few dollars. Wearing one that is cheap is...

What are the advantages of this Seafoam additive?

Have been using Seafoam for years as a stabilizer and it does a great job of cleaning as well. (Seafood, not so much ;) although I love to eat it). I first learned about it when I owned my 05 Midnight Venture on Ventureriders. Very popular among that group too. Gary

Trying to keep our helmets safe......

Yes, my wife's helmet is a Schuberth C3 Pro with no D ring but rather the quick release. When we got our Lidlox in Springfield they gave us the little pieces for both helmets similar as shown that either slide through the D ring for my Shoei or the gap behind the quick release and it works...

+5 on Back to Black. It is intended exactly for what you want and will out last armor all many times over. There are other descent products mentioned here, just not armor all. Gary

    Tire pressure

I used to have several gauges and they were all over the place compared to each other. I got a good gauge that I know is accurate and consistent and anything that was not close to that went in the garbage. The problem in my mind is that if you have a cheap gauge that is reading way low or way...

    Added security

I have one but don't use it anymore. I used to use it on my 2 wheel bikes. Maybe it was me but the darn thing used to go through batteries too quickly for my liking. It used a whole bunch of those little batteries that look like a coin and they added up in price. It was loud and gave me a little...

    Dongle and winter storage

Can't answer on the Dongle as we don't have one. Usually add Seafoam instead of Sta-ble but that is personal choice. Sure either works. I leave my bikes on a battery tender/maintainer. I used to put more air in the tires to prevent flat spots but stopped that and have not had any problems. You...

Replace rear tire on 2014 RT

RudyB, The car tire I have sitting in my garage (General Altimax) waiting to be used doesn't have a dot either. The 2 Kenda's I've had did have dots and my local guy lined it up with the valve stem when he did the last one and the first came from the factory that way too. If I remember...

Replace rear tire on 2014 RT

Well speaking only for myself, my dealership is over an hour away. They charge a stupid amount of money (like about $250) to take the wheel off and put it back on the spyder. And to add insult to injury, they then send the wheel and tire to a local tire retailer to remove the tire from the rim...

Replace rear tire on 2014 RT

Yes I have. Its a fellow that works primarily on Harley's and is an independent that is well respected locally. However, he does not have the adaptor to balance Spyder rear rims so I just used Ride-On in the rear tire and no problems. Gary
