• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Front tires

I also have a 2014 and have put Continental Contiprocontacts on in the 175/55R15 size. No problems with fitment, no Nanny complaints and they do seem to improve handling. There are other options if you search the forum as this question does come up fairly often. Gary

    possible clutch issues?

I agree it sounds a little fishy. If you didn't notice anything then I would just keep riding it as you have been. If it was starting to fail, I think you will notice. Perhaps as suggested by Ann, he was shifting at too low an RPM for your setup. Maybe he is more used to the newer 1330's and was...

Caution - Rivco RT Trunk Rack

Sorry, wasn't on until this morning and didn't see, hence reply to your question. The sides of the rack are pretty flush with the sides of the trunk on mine. I don't recall the sides of the trunk being pulled out to the rack but rather they lined up flush. Hard to tell if the gap at the top...

Caution - Rivco RT Trunk Rack

When I saw your post I thought there was a problem with the actual rack because I have one that I installed this past winter. I did use the template provided and if I recall, held it against the rack for comparison. I used the provided template and didn't have an issue with the spacing. I'm not...

    Front Tires Thoughts

I put 18 in mine just because I ran 18 in the front Kendas. But I have now got some mileage on them and it seems fine and the tires are working well. In fact I think it has improved handling. I'm happy with the Contis in 175/55R15's. They fit well. No Mods needed. Gary

    Drivers backrest

I had 2 Utopia backrests on 2 different bikes prior to getting a Spyder. They were excellent. I have an Ultimate seat on the Spyder and their backrest is virtually identical to the Utopia in design and I love it too. I would get a Utopia if that was my other option. Good to deal with too or at...

    Vibration

I'm reading these belt tension numbers and they are not fitting with what I believe to be correct. Neil, you have a 2014 RT, is that not correct? The specs for a 2014 range from 202 to 270 lbs. if I'm not mistaken and that is measured with the rear wheel off the ground. The 998 Spyders have a...

    Getting a new seat

I have not heard any complaints from my wife about the comfort of the passenger on our Ultimate seat. Couldn't be too bad since she falls asleep back there. Seating comfort is one of those subjective topics. Some seats work well for some people while not for others. Gary

Seperateing Magic Mirror Magnets. I think this made it easier.

I can say with confidence that the clamping process was not harmful in my opinion. It was in wood and only clamped firm enough to hold them. No excessive pressure was exerted. I guess someone might torque hard on them but that isn't necessary. Appreciate your caution but one has to also use...

Seperateing Magic Mirror Magnets. I think this made it easier.

I decided to try something to make it easier to separate the magnets. I was concerned about loosing a spacer and getting them stuck together. I have old style Work Mates which of course have wooden work surfaces and a grove in the edges that clamp things in them. I clamped the role of magnets...

    "E" when shifting gears

That is exactly what was happening to me early on. I was shifting too quickly and once I slowed it down the E never came back. When I say too quickly I mean like about a second between shifts. Not saying that is isn't a potential problem but try slowing down the shift and see if it stops...
