• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Water in Frunk

Our 2014 RTS would accumulate water in the bottom of the Frunk. I noticed it primarily when I washed it. The tub, which is the frunk, has a seam running around it. With the frunk lid open you will see a hole below the latch mechanism. Wash or rain water is supposed to flow down that hole and...

    never ending new car story.

My last one was a 1983 GMC Jimmy. I swore I would never buy another GM product and to this day I've kept my word. Yes, I know all people have their likes and dislikes and good and bad experiences with different brands but sell me a POS and I'll carry a grudge to my death. Same with Jeep. Loved...

    Run Flat Tires

I know vehicles like our past BMW's that came with run flats could have non run flats installed on them with no problem. I thought it also worked the other way but I won't bet the farm on it. I believe some Goldwing owners that went to the dark side used run flats on their stock rims. I think...

    FUEL GUAGE ACCURACY

What the hell, I'll throw my 2 cents in. With a 2014 RTS: 1. I always fill my tank to the brim. When the gas nozzle is all the way in and the tank shuts off, I pull the nozzle out to the edge and continue filling. Have NEVER had a problem from doing this. 2. No, I don't ryde my Spyder in...

    Rivco hiway pegs

Have the black ones. Work and look fine. Use them for the occasional change of leg position on long rides. Gary

    Motorbike Jacket

I wasn't going to reply because my wife and I have the Latitude jackets and pants from Klim, not the Badlands which is what you are interested in getting. One reason we liked the Klim is because we did not want to have to stop to put a rain liner into a Rev-it. We also liked the fit and details...

    single wheel trailer

Yes, these have been around for a very long time and have a good reputation to the best of my knowledge. They are meant to lean so just not sure how they would lend themselves to a Spyder but I'm sure the people that make them can shed some light on that. Gary

    A Magic Mirror update.

Just my own experience too. Put them on prior to going across country and back plus extra distance. So they have over 12,000 km/8,000 miles. No tether, no unusual gap, zero vibration or movement and that was over some rough roads that had me concerned about damage to the Spyder. Just my 2 cents...

    Insurance problems

Well, if you truly want that machine then I'd say make the deal and as was suggested by Doug, get it delivered. Yes it may be frustrating to see it sit while you get your affairs sorted out but at least it is a start. You should be able to get coverage for fire and theft. Motorcycle insurance is...

Rear shock/air bag air pressure regulation by BUDS?

Thanks for the explanation Snowbelt Spyder. I am familiar with the sensor from the rear wheel removal procedure. For sake of clarification, I have the hardness setting at the top, ie most firm. I measured the air pressure from the Schrader valve under the seat and it read 32 lbs with no one...

Who cares how much money you spent

jimmybarton, Something you should perhaps keep in mind. There will always be people who have much less than you and think that you are wealthy regardless of what you think and there will always be people who have more. The same applies to each and every one of us. I got over a long time ago that...

Rear shock/air bag air pressure regulation by BUDS?

2014 RTS I seem to remember reading in here that there is a setting in BUDS that governs how much air pressure is pumped into the air bag. The switch that shows different levels of air pressure must have some sort of parameter to go by if I understand. Can someone confirm this for me and what...

    Valcourt Was A Great Trip

We had talked before Valcourt about you going across Canada and back through the US. Sounds like you decided to not do the trip. Happy though that you enjoyed your experience. Gary

Tips for ryding in the rain?

My wife and I bought Klim Latitude Gortex jackets and pants last year. Yes they are expensive but we are so impressed and happy with them. We thought long and hard over spending that much and we got them at a great price but they have been worth every penny to us. On our most recent trip using...

    10k

All positives here too My wife and I got back from Valcourt last Thursday. After the event we went around the Gaspe coast and back through New Brunswick. We live in south central British Columbia. We did a total of 11,550 km/7,219 miles on our 2014 RTS. 100% trouble free. We don't do a lot of...

    Front tires

I can only speak for the 175 Continentals that I'm running and I know others are too. There is absolutely no problem fitting them on my 2014 RTS. I believe you are on a 15 which has the same fender as my 14. Seeing 185 was a little surprising to me but if someone is using a 185 in a particular...

    Wife and I are Bumming!!!

Perhaps letting them know you are planning to go to Homecoming will get it done a little faster, assuming all the parts get there soon enough. You aren't that far from Valcourt, are you? The loaner is an option as already suggested. Gary
