• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Dealer says Demo Rides are not possible - any suggestions?

On your first call to a dealer to ask about a test ride, be sure to let them know that you have taken the course and have ridden a Ryker. Let them know that the main purpose of your call is to see if an F3 or an RT will fit you. I can understand that a dealer would not be in favor of any...

The oil plug- Murphy showed up today.

Even though I have a Harbor Freight within a few minutes of my house, I have found that not everybody is similarly blessed. However, ... I have also seen left-handed drill bits at Auto Zone, Advance Auto, O'Reilly's, etc. THEY are on just about every street corner. .

Can I tow a Spyder pull-behind Trailer with my truck?

Physically, yes, it can be done. Legally, as you have seen, might be questionable .

Parking Brake Motor - Pro's & Con's of leaving it off during winter hibernation?

I have often turned off the headlights by turning the key back ON, then OFF again. Not sure if the beeper would be affected by this move, probably not. :dontknow: .

How hot is too hot for Spyder Storage?

That would be a good plan/schedule in YOUR area, but the OP is in southern Arizona. They have SUMMER storage because it's just too blame hot to ride. Winter time is the best time to ride there. .

What is the best way of wearing glasses with a modular full face helmet?

Full-face helmet user here, just don't care for a modular. Having a full-face helmet, there is no choice, you will NOT have your glasses on when putting on/taking off your helmet. Until recently, it was just for the sunglasses, but now the sunglasses have a prescription. My wife has a modular...

How hot is too hot for Spyder Storage?

If there is a roof vent in the trailer, leave it open a bit. If you have lower vents, too, leave them open, too. .

Is trailer with swivel 1-7/8 coupler ok for spyder?

Do you think the trailer wheel would be the first thing to hit the pothole/roadkill? It probably follows pretty close to the track of your Spyder's front wheels. I never caught on to the whole swivel hitch thing myself. I could park my 2-wheeler on its side stand, then lift the left side of...

Is Reverse A Low Gear, Or Higher?

Are you sure it was the clutch that was chattering? I have found that going up a ramp in reverse (essentially the same thing) has some serious traction issues compared to going forward. I think the change in direction pulls the rear wheel up, reducing traction. Find an area that...

A question or two for those who carry firearms on them when riding

Last I heard, I'm wanted in four states. I'm not wanted back in the other 46. .

Those of you that Concealed Carry on your Spyder, what type of holster do you use?

One of the pastors here conducted a survey one weekend. Asked how many members would be interested in joining him at the gun range. After observing them at the range, he allowed most of them to carry in church. We attend a different church (but know that pastor). My son carries virtually all...

Why you should flush your brake fluid properly

Yes, the actual changeover would be relatively easy, but be aware that DOT5 brings its own problems. As noted several times in this discussion alone, moisture that finds its way into a DOT3 or DOT4 system will eventually contaminate the entire system. DOT5 fluid does not absorb moisture, so it...

Dot 3 vs Dot 4 brake fluid - DOT 4 absorbs moisture, so don't o/look maintenance!

Your 4-wheelers might "require" DOT3, but DOT4 will work in them just as well (or better). It is good that you know the difference that ".1" makes. DOT5 fluid is silicone-based and is not compatible with DOT3 or DOT4. I think there might be issues with seals, too, you need to ensure that the...

    Upcoming Epic Road Trip.

It's nice to hear from someone else that does not have a high opinion for BaseCamp. Until my employer switched to a different mileage-tracking system for reimbursement, I just uploaded all my tracks for the week and sorted out what I did for work. I do this all in MapSource (MS)(an...

Looking for ideas to haul/trailer an RT and an HD?

Before you consider that, do a couple of things first. 1. Measure the total length of the trailer. Compare that to the space available in your garage. Might be closer than you think. 2. Measure the distance from the top of your windshield and/or antenna(s) to the top of your door opening...

Anyone fab'ing a Rear Trunk removal kit for 2017 Gen RTL's?

I have had the rear plastics off and have seen the framework underneath. I think that such a kit would have to do some extensive body work to cover up what would be left when the trunk is removed. Besides the 'simple' matter of aesthetics, you will also have to be concerned with all the...

What's the Best Sounding Exhaust for my RTL?

After attending a few rallies and hearing various machines fire up and take off, I have come to the conclusion that the best-sounding exhaust system is ... STOCK. Yeah, it's not really very inspiring, but the three-cylinder exhaust cadence is so ... industrial, and does not seem to be enhanced...

What should it cost to mount tires - this much??

I don't remember what the details were on the purchase, but I checked with the shop that does the little bit of car work that I need (Muffler Brothers) to see if he could/would do the tires. The owner of that franchise location is a motorcyclist, so I thought he might be able to do it. I also...
